Insulation (Thermoplastic Polyurethane cable bushing) is included to ensure no shorting occurs inside the connector. Colored rubber flexible grommet grants best strain relief. Like the title says, they work, they sound fine, the RCA plugs are good quality and don't put me in panic mode trying to pull them out of jacks. Construction is very good, cable is thick, tough, yet flexible. Decent cables and I'd put money on nobody being able to tell these from $500 cables. The only completely hokey thing is the ridiculous "give them 175 hours time to break in". Seriously? Is the silly needed to sell these? It's copper folks....it's been in the ground for a billion years...it's as "broken in" as it's gonna get.
