I was using the RG-59 cable that came with the antenna I purchased. The cable is what you get with bundled kits (antenna, mount, cable). thin RF insulation and non-copper core center. In other words..not great cable. My CBS station is 56 miles away from me. I was getting some pixilation on this station (and others stations), and sometimes my DVR turner would not play back my recording because of low signal.
After replacing with this cable, my CBS station and the other low signal channels came in with no pixilation. Also my recordings on CBS recorded without the DVR/Tuner complaining about low signal. Last, in my option all the channel I get look brighter and more in focus (less blurry).
This is top of the line RG-6 cable. Quad core insulation. solid copper core center. It does not get better then this brand. This is what you want when setting up your OTA system.
P.S. I used about 35 feet of this cable. It's connected to a Amazon Fire Recast DVR/Turner. My antenna is a Mohu Sky 60. |
