Answer: The answer is no. I have the 72mm Starscape filter. That being said, the step up/down adaptor has to be bought for each different size lens. Since the filter is more expensive than the adaptors, you buy the filter for the biggest lens you have and then buy the adaptors to match your other lenses. In your case, if I understand it properly, if it were me, I would purchase the filter(s) for the largest, 86mm lens, then purchase a step-down adaptor for the 82mm and 77mm lenses. So, for the smaller lenses you would purchase a 86mm to 82mm adaptor, then a 86 mm to 77mm adaptor.
