Thin pouches work well.
For the price, these laminating pouches are great. I have used these in my Amazon basics laminator and a different brand laminator at my school and it works on both. They are pretty thin, but I work with preschoolers who like to sneeze on, lick, grab, etc. my items so the laminating just protects them and allows me to clean them after I use them.
You DO need to cut things our before you laminate them (then cut them out again) otherwise the laminating will open.
When I've laminated small items, I have had a few of my laminating items get bent and they stayed bent... So you may want to invest in thicker or more expensive pouches if you are worried that. It's only been on my smaller items though. 98% of the things I've laminated have held up, but it is something to be aware of.

I wasn't sure about the difference between the 3 mil. and 5 mil. that people were discussing in reviews and the q and a's of these laminates, but almost all said 3 mil. was just fine. I wholeheartedly agree! It also must mean my work is using something close to 1 mil. and not enough heat!! I'm sooo happy I purchased these (along with a laminator!)

Easy to use with a clear display
I bought these Laminating Pouches sheets to make some cookbooks for my family for Christmas. It is so easy to slide in the typed or handwritten sheets into the pouches then run it through my laminator machine. I even used these pouches with a book binder to finish my project up. The pouches are sealed with no bubbles or creases. Only one pass through my laminator too. The pages are clear and not cloudy like others I have tried. The binder was able to cut through cleanly making for a very nice display. These pouches would be great for making keepsakes of homework pieces, letters, notes or other memories.

After laminated a sheet of paper, can you cut the sheet and the laminate pouch still stick to the paper without laminated boarder?
Answer :
I use this to laminate bookmarks which I cut out from the paper. Because it's 3 millimeters it does sometimes peel, I've found, if I don't cut outside of the vacuum sealed border it creates when it goes through the machine. I'd recommend 5 millimeter if that's an issue you foresee for your projects.

Yes, it will be clear on both sides. I have done two sided card stock paper witn printing on both sides and both sides are the same.

will these work with a seingline gbc laminator?
Answer :
Sorry, I am not familiar with that laminator. I work in the classroom and we use these with our small Scotch tabletop laminators that use that size pouch for laminating. They are really good product and cost a lot less than the Scotch brand laminating pouches.

can you cut them to make smaller tags?
Answer :
Yes. I made luggage tags and I laminated them together and then cut into a smaller size for the tags. As long as you have a decent margin where the laminating sheets are able to be heated and laminated around whatever you are laminating when you make your cuts it should be fine. I tried a few by cutting them smaller before putting them through the machine and they worked fine. I am really happy with the laminating sheets and this machine! Excellent value!

Could I use an iron instead of a laminator to seal these?
Answer :
Generally speaking ... Thermal Laminate sheets work with an iron. I use 2-ply aluminum foil under the laminating sheet and a thin towel above. Set the iron to the hottest setting and iron for 30-60 seconds. This method is easy with business card sized items, but it may be a bit challenging for larger items.

No, "mil" is ABSOLUTELY NOT short for millimeter.
"mil" is one one-thousandth of an inch, or 0.0254 mm.
3 mil is 0.762 mm.

Which binder would work for this pouch size? The binder I have having locks top and bottom and prevend sheet from fitting.
Answer :
Not sure what you mean but, if the pouch is to short you may have to add a strip at the top and bottom or just one or the other. You can do this by running a pouch thru your lam machine with nothing in it, making a clear sheet which is the same thickness as your binder cover. Now using double stick tape cut what you need from the clear sheet. To cover what you added decorate as you like. I sure hope I helped. I am an artist and if I can't find what I need I make it.

if I need to replace the paper inside can I replace it?
Answer :
If you mean that if you needed to replace the actual paper/document that you initially laminated - once you've laminated it, the answer is NO. They call them "pouches" but they're not actually a pouch per say. They're more of a plastic film, two sheets that are connected at a seem that one would place their document or whatever they want to laminate in between the two film sheets and run it through laminater, firming the heated, PERMANENT, seal.

Have xerox xrx-951l laminator. it has paper/cardboard sleeve that is used to cover the laminate as it goes through laminator. is this still necessary?
Answer :
When I am laminating something small (such as the size of a business card) and I've already cut the laminating sheet to fit (that way I can use the rest of the sheet for something else), I put that small something inside a folded 8.5x11 piece of copy paper. That way it doesn't get hung up inside the laminator. It works great.
