The receiver works so much better than the original unit I am upset at myself that I didn't replace it sooner. We have the vent-less gas logs in our basement and the old receiver would work from maybe 10 feet away at the most and then had to aim the remote directly it. This replacement unit works great from 25 feet away so I never have to worry that the fireplace won't get the signal to turn off no matter where the remote it. Also the old receiver would eat up batteries. The Fire has been Restored with the Replacement Ambient Reciever
If you have Gas Logs that will no longer work with the remote control, a simple solution may just be to replace the reciever. This Ambient product worked well with my existing hand held remote. After following the simple instructions for setting (matching) the DIP switches in the reciever to the remote, I was up and running. The reason I suspected the reciever originally was because, the LED that lights when a signal is recieved from the remote failed to do so. After looking online for common problems, all advice pointed to the reciever, which confirmed my suspicion. All in all, the results I recieved for this price, made this purchase a great deal.

This replaced a box where the small battery lid had broken. I took a chance and decided to use the old remote with this and had no problem at all. I had to remove the cement logs to connect the wire harness. It was very simple, two push connectors. The instructions said that there was no reason to be concerned about polarity. The most difficult part was remembering how to put back the cement logs. I followed the instructions about setting the DIP switches so that the box and the remote could communicate. No but the clips on door is fragile. When you buy this it comes with both a black and white. You save as spare. Or you can use electrical tape to hold doo closed if one of the tabs are broke.

No, this will not work with Acumen remotes. We have tried with a number of customer to get them working together with no success.

When you initially install the batteries the light should flash a few times, after that it should not flash unless it is getting a signal from a remote or the batteries are low. I have never seen a unit flash the light fast and consistently for an extended period of time like you are stating. I ran into a similar situation. I copied 3 of the switch settings to match my old receiver then set the 4th to off. I believe there are instructions that came with the receiver that suggest options for the different switch settings

Honestly, with how these receivers work or don't work, you may want to just replace it as it also comes with the cord. Other option is to splice the cord back together with automotive butt connectors.

Don't have answer, this receiver (RC-RB) only receives signal from remote, or can manually by switch turn on or off. not sure this helps

I do not know of a RCT model but it says it will work in the description. It worked fine with my older RCST remote. They had different number of dip switches but the instructions will tell you which ones to use.

I'm not sure what the inquisitor is referring to with the term "outlet plug"? Is this a 110 volt AC power plug? The Ambient RC-RB remote is battery operated with no option for AC power to my knowledge. Also, I don't know what you are referring to with the term "setup". The only wire terminations on the Ambient go to the gas control valve. There are DIP switches on the Ambient receiver device that must be set to match those on the remote (e.g., "hand") control. The operators manual that comes with the Ambient clearly indicates how this procedure is done. That is the only "setup" procedure required.

Answer :
I don’t believe you can on Amazon. Call a fireplace store to see if they’ve swapped out units and have extra battery covers. It’s how I replaced the cover the last time.
