This is a superior quality cable for hooking up subwoofers via s single-line hookup. You can read extensive detail about the cable at the top of this page where the description of the oxygen free copper, the wiring twist, and the binding materials are described, but I can say myself that simply seeing these things in person will convince you of their quality. I am using mine with a Yamaha VX-3000 receiver connected to a Now Hear This (NHT) Super 8 subwoofer, and the bass just rolls out in smooth and uniform manner. I was so pleased that I had made the decision to upgrade to this cable for my subwoofer, because it simply is worth every penny, and actually, could be considered under priced for what you get. An integrated grounding wire is embedded within the sleeve of the cable in case your system picks up any hum, which can happen with subwoofer installations. In my case, there is no issue, and if you also do not experience this, you simply leave the y-shaped grounding plug disconnected. The quality, the look, and the performance of this outstanding subwoofer cable easily earn it a five star rating in my book, and I'm so pleased I picked up one.

Eliminated random humming!

I had first bought the bluerigger subwoofer cables because of the great reviews it had - but I would come home and hear a deep humming, super loud, and it was my subwoofer - and the home theater was off! After like the third time that happened, returned the bluerigger cable and spent the extra cash on this - and it never happened again. Simply ground the cable and works perfectly. I don't know about the claims of this cable producing better sound, I'm not an audio nut - but I can vouch that it 100% gets rid of the humming, at least in my case. For that alone, it is worth it to me.

End subwoofer hum.

Cured my subwoofer hum, but only after I installed correctly with the arrow pointing toward the subwoofer. Even though there is a ground wire on both ends the hum ended only after the cable was installed with the arrow pointed in the right direction and the ground wire attached to my sub. Wish I would have purchased this cable sooner!

... Klipsch subwoofer I was experiencing a loud and increasingly annoying hum when the system was off

I was extremely concerned about spending 40 bucks on speaker wire but after buying a brand new powered Klipsch subwoofer I was experiencing a loud and increasingly annoying hum when the system was off. Tried a few methods to fix it including putting both the receiver and subwoofer on the same power strip with no luck. I plugged this in and it worked like a dream. Feedback issue was eliminated immediately. This was worth every penny. If you are spending on setting up a high end home theater do yourself a favor and don't skimp on the wire. This product is excellent.

The Audio Quest Black Lab performed as advertised. The ground wire attachment eliminated the problem I had with humming coming from my Subwoofer. Excellent sound quality. Material quality is always outstanding with Audio Quest.

Little pricey but worth it. The hum that was produced using an inferior cable is gone completely. Love the quality of the product.

Very good quality and value for the money.
I was using normal rca cable before but after changing to audio quest black lab cable can feel the improvement in the sound quality and the punch of the subwoofer.

Love this little gem

Love this little gem. Noise in the subwoofer channel even after wire separation. I had isolated the ground loop causing the issue and installed a separate ground wire. This cable took care of the issue and more,. Really nice cable.

Highly recommended!

Custom Questions & answers

Question:I’d like to connect this to the back of a wall plate or keystone, where do I attach external wire?
Answer:I don’t know what you mean when you talk about the Keystone and polite

Question:what is the use of the attachment next to the male part that looks like a 2 teeth fork?
Answer:Its a "ground". You attach it to any screw on either end of its connection...receiver/amp or the sub woofer...you only do this if you are getting a "buzzing" noise in the sub woofer (ground noise)...its often not needed.

Question:How long are these cables,30 feet????
Answer:Thanks very much for your question. This is a 3 meter cable which is a little over 9 feet long. World Wide Stereo is 38 years old and a proud Audioquest dealer.

Question:where are the test for these cables?
Answer:Never saw any lab test, but the cable is externally grounded and has no hum that I can here from my surround or the turn table and if you are old enough you can appreciate the latter

Question:How to connect to a wall plate
Answer:I’m sorry but I don’t know the answer to your question

Question:What is the gauge of the wire? is it a good to connect a subwoofer to receiver 50ft apart?
Answer:It's 18-22 gauge I'd guess, it's made for a powered subwoofer, if you're sub is passive (powered by the reciever) and has no amplifier built in to the sub (does you're sub plugs into the 110 volt wall outlet, yes = powered subwoofer)
