Question: | No one is addressing wether this cable can actually do 6G. has anyone tested dual connect 4K signal on these? |
Answer: | The cable we use is Belden 1694A -- while there still isn't a proper spec for 6G as yet, Belden's engineering lab has tested 1694A out on some basis or other for 6G, and found that 1694A handled 6G out to 347 feet in a single-link configuration, and 512 feet in a dual-link. We have had no reports of trouble from users with 6G. Thanks, Kurt Blue Jeans Cable

Question: | Can I use this cable over 70meters long for 1080p25 signal? |
Answer: | Belden rates this cable for 78 meters at 3G. 1080p25 is somewhere at or under 1.5G, and the cable is rated for 113 meters at 1.5G. So, yes. It should work fine at 70 meters for 1080p25. |

Question: | Can this sdi cable be used for timecode in/out connections? (to connect a canon xf705 to a zoom f4, for example) |
Answer: | Timecode cables ordinarily are simply 75 ohm video cables, so yes, if both devices that you need to connect have female BNC connections, this should work fine. |
|
Question: | Is this cable terminated? |
Answer: | Yes. It has Canare male BNCs on both ends. |
|
Question: | Can these cables be joined end to end so that, for example, if you needed a 50 ft cable you could join two 25ft cables? |
Answer: | Yes, with a coupler. The cables are male-to-male so will not join up directly. |
|
Question: | It is not specified whether it is rg-59 or rg-6. please clarify. |
Answer: | This is Belden 1694A, an RG-6 sized cable.
Thanks,

Question: | Any idea the maximum length to be able to run these cables? can you connect 2 or 3 together if I needed 200-300 ft? |
Answer: | Maximum length depends on the data rate and also on the particular SMPTE standard being employed. Belden publishes a distance chart for this. At 6G they say it'll go 340 feet, but under at least some of the 3G standards it actually is only said to go 255. |

Question: | Can i use it with blackmagic design decklink quad 2 8-channel 3g-sdi capture and playback card, 720p/1080p cross-conversion? |
Answer: | As long as the equipment uses BNC connectors, yes. I'm not familiar with the jackfield on that particular device, but BNCs are the usual method of connecting SDI and this will handle 3G or 6G SDI. |
