Same (perhaps better) quality eyepiece that originally shipped on your camera.

Soon after buying my Rebel T3/1100D, I purchased the Canon eyepiece extender. I wear glasses, so getting my eye to the viewfinder was sometimes awkward and my nose was constantly rubbing the LCD screen. This was great until the first time I went on vacation and the original eyecup got knocked off of the extender and I didn't realize it. I would find it floating around in my camera bag every now and then, so losing it was inevitable.

So, looking to save a few dollars, I purchased a cheap 3rd-party replacement here on Amazon. Every time my eyepiece got bumped, it would get knocked off and of course I lost it again on our next vacation. I decided to really splurge and spend $10 on this actual Canon replacement instead of $3 or so for a knock-off. I'm happy to report that a year later, this one doesn't get knocked off with the slightest bump. I take my camera out of the bag and it's still attached. I go on vacation and don't "find" my eyepiece sitting on the sidewalk while reviewing a photo of my children the following day.

This should fit practically all of the Rebel (or equivalent non-US model) DSLRs from the original up to the current T5i. Not only does it fit my Rebel T3/1100D perfectly, but it actually fits more securely than the one that shipped with my camera new.

Original Replacement

Quality is exactly the same as the original part that came on my Canon XSi (450d) I purchased new some 12 years ago. I nearly purchased an aftermarket eyecup eye piece instead of this original but ultimately decided I prefer the slim compact profile as opposed to some giant eye cup hanging off the back which I’ve managed to not need the whole time I’ve had the camera anyway. Fit, finish, and materials are OEM and install took all of two seconds. Perfect replacement

Canon Eyecup for EOS Camera

This is a real Canon product, not a for Canon product. It is an EOM replacement, it fits, it works, it is the same that comes with the camera. If you have lost or misplaced your original as I did, this fits and won’t be different than original, or need modifications to fit your camera. It is camera model specific so check for your camera model number.

Canon Eyecup-EF is Good
Verified Purchase
This item is good! I recently lost the one that came with my Rebel XTi and this one is an exactly duplicate so it works as advertised. However, I have one complaint: the reason I lost the original is that these eyecups fit poorly onto the camera viewfinder.

The little plastic clips that hold it in place are flimsy and barely hold the cup on (this is true of the original and of these replacements). Consequently, they all come off very easily and I am constantly having to push it back on. The problem becomes exaserbated when taking the camera out of or putting it back into my camera bag.

I have already had more than a dozen times when I've found the eyecup in the bottom of my camera bag upon taking the camera out of the bag. That is where it usually ends up (in the bottom of the bag), but the frustratingly catastrophe finally happened and it must have fallen out of the bag. Hence it got lost.

I bought two of these replacements, just to be sure that I have a backup. Shame on Canon for such a poorly designed item on the otherwise superb camera.

I love my XTi; but this eyecup is cheap and flimsy and not up to what I've come to enjoy as Canon's excellent standards.

All that said, I would still have no hesitation recommending this replacement eyecup if one looses the one that came with the camera.

The perfect accessory for people who wear glasses!
Verified Purchase
I swear glasses and looking through the view finder on my Canon Rebel T4i has become a pain. After purchasing my Canon Eyecup-EF and attaching it to my camera, everything has become a walk in the park. The installation was as simple as sliding it over the groove where the viewfinder is and listening for that click. It's that simple! Snug and secure, a perfect fit! With it being Canon brand (not some third party after market part) it's the best you'll get and for the price, it's a steal! Will definitely be making future purchases from Canon Cameras US!

I highly recommend this product!

I'm so happy they sell these pieces separately

The one on my camera came off and was lost when I lent it to a friend, I'm so happy they sell these pieces separately. It fit my camera perfectly and I love knowing that if this one gets lost I can easily replace it again.

Custom Questions & answers

Question:Hi, will this work for Canon 77D as well? Thanks
Answer:I am not sure if it supports 77D, mines as 550D. I would advise to check on Canon website for compatible models for the eye piece.

Question:It is original?
Answer:The Canon replacement Eyecup-EF I bought was an original. I has the Canon trademarks on its inner surface. Knock-off versions of Canon eyecups that may fit or are "aftermarket" are in my experience always marked as "compatible".

Question:Will this fit both t3i and t5?
Answer:I know it fits the T3 aka: 110D, you would have to check with Amazon.com to see for yourself if it is compatible for the T3i and the T5. If your model isn't mention, then I wouldn't purchase the item.

Question:will this work on Canon T5i and T3i ?
Answer:will work on t3i.i know the t5 is a smaller camera. fit very well on my t3i and seems like it has a little more rubber than the stock one.

Question:What is the difference between the ef and eb? i bought the ep-ex15ii for my daughter a few months ago and she lost the rubber piece e(?).
Answer:The EF is the smaller version for Canon Digital Rebel Cameras like T6i, T5i, T5, T4i, T3i, T3, T2i, T1i, SL1, XTi, XSi, XT, etc... The EB is larger and fits Canon 70D, 60D, 50D, 40D, 30D, 20D, 10D.

Question:Will this fit the canon ae-1 program?
Answer:I don't know the answer, but Amazon has an eye cup for the AE-1. Here's the link https://www.amazon.com/CANON-Eyecup-cups-AE-1-Program/dp/B01G63RT0S

Question:Will this fit the SL2?
Answer:Can you share the complete model number?

Question:T2i
Answer:If the 'question' is, is it worth the purchase, then the answer is a resounding, yes! I am very satisfied with it's ability to hold fast to the camera's body unlike the original and three former replacements. I also bought one of the following as a back-up/alternative for when needed:
Eyepiece / Eyecup (Ef and Eb Compatable) for CANON REBEL and EOS Series Cameras including T4i T3i T3 T2i T2 T1i XTi XSi XS K2 XT + Premium MagicFiber Microfiber Cleaning Cloth
by Goja
Arthur.

Question:Does this include the rubber piece around the eyecup?
Answer:Yes it does. That's the reason most need to buy a new one of these, the rubber part falls off or rips. Don't know why I waited so long to order a replacement. Mine fit perfectly.
