Worth every penny!

I bought this product to wire in my wireless phone charger and my under-dash LED lights. I first had both wired directly into my fuse block which helps regulate the amps going to the 2 items. It is a really solid product and was easy to tie up under my dash. If you are trying to power some stuff in your car that you want to wire into the car and not plug into the cigarette port, this is the way to go.

Great way for USB powered devices

This gadget is a great way to hard-wire USB powered devices in your car. Whether that's a dash cam, Alexa, radio detector, or whatever. This makes it a snap. All you basically need to do is wire this to the 'hot' side of your fuse block and forget it.

Does the job.

I purchased this for my Bluetooth adapter, needed a 5V power source. Also i used if to power the dash cam. Install was easy, you need to tap in to 12v wire or your car,i did it on the cigarette lighter wires. Bluetooth adapter and camera work fine,no issues.

Great 12V to 5V stepper

Needed a way to connect 5V light strings to a 12V AGM battery for camping and this is an inexpensive and easy way to accomplish the task without having to build your own converter.

Great little 5 volt USB DUAL OUTLET.

Wired to automatic rear view mirror wiring. I have a GoPro mounted to the front side of the mirror and I use my iPhone in a RAM Mount on the front windshield while racing. Now I don’t have to change batteries during a race weekend. Works awesome.

Works good!

I wired this up under the dashboard of my car and routed the end of the charging cable up through a vent. Makes for a super clean appearance.

Great for adding a USB

Everything as advertised.
I simply tapped the hot (and ground) on the map light in my car to add a USB for dash cam power in the headliner. Less than 15 minutes to get everything done.
Very happy.

Works Great - used with Maestro dash kit on 2016 F150

Added two powered usb charging ports to a Maestro dash kit. Worked and fit great. Took power with two taps off the 12v outlet on the passenger side.

Worked perfect for my camper.

Worked perfect to replace my existing one in camper to power wifi router. It was identical and had usb but I bought a usb plug with correct power adapter at end to plug in to the usb and to my router. Total install time took 3 minutes.

Question & Answer

Question :

What is the parasitic amp draw when the output is not connected to anything?

Answer :

Negligible.

Question :

Auto cutoff with low voltage?

Answer :

Didn’t see any evidence of that.

Question :

what is the wire gauge for the input wire?

Answer :

If I had to guess I’d say 16 (I installed it a few weeks ago)

Question :

If my power source is 8 D cell batteries in series and connect your device to them to charge an iPhone directly, will it work and not damage my phone?

Answer :

This will not be suitable, it will charge slowly.

Question :

Is the 5V output / 3 amp output per port or together?

Answer :

per port

Question :

I am attaching this to a hotspot for charging purposes with a 5v/2a requirement (stated on the charging cable). will this 3a hurt the hotspot?

Answer :

This is wired to a 12 volt power source such as the battery or the fuse panel. This doesn't plug into a hot spot. I have mine wired 9ff my battery to charge USB devices while my key is in the off position. This product is not plug and play.

Question :

Are there any videos showing how to install in cars?

Answer :

I tapped into the cigarette lighter harness. Easy instalation.

Question :

I need to t tap this to a constant fuse, what is the fuse I can install it to?

Answer :

I’m not sure what car you have, but the easiest answer is the constant(+) for the radio. I used mine for GoPro and cell charger along the front windshield, so I wired mine to the unused auto dimmer rear view mirror wires. You could also use the dome light if you wanted the USB port near the sun visors.

Question :

So can i wire this to my car head lights? i have led light that i would like just to turn on when i turn on, when i turn on my head lights.

Answer :

You can find a better way, as these are not weather proof. They are good for charging phone, etc. indoors.

Question :

Is the 5V output / 3 amp output per port or together?

Answer :

It says maximum current is 3A so I'd guess that was for both outputs, not each output.
