DVI may be old-fashioned compared to HDMI and Display Port, but I was using a relatively short DVI cable on my 24-inch ViewSonic monitor because it had come with the monitor and because I had thought my HDMI ports weren't working. Yes, these are both the same Gender, this fits the old reduced pin configuration and the newer pin configuration and both ends are the same to allow for hook up to DVI plugs.

That is each plug is 2 3/16", from the back of the strain relief to the end of the connector shell.
