Works so good I forget it is there

I purchased this Epson Duplexer for my Epson Artisan 800 All-in-one inkjet printer over a year ago. Overall I have been extremely happy with it. I do a light volume of duplexing; maybe 10 to 20 sheets a month maximum.

Pros:
-Easy to install
-Easy to use
-Works with the Epson drivers in Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 environments
-Relatively quiet
-Has functioned without incident (i.e. no paper jams)

Cons:
-None to date

Other observations:
-Adds about 3" to the rear of the my Artisan printer (this may not be an issue with other printers)
-Obviously adds a bit of time to duplex vs printing one sided since the printer must give the paper additional time to dry before it prints on the other side. On the plus side, duplexing does saves paper
-You will want to adjust both your drying time and ink density (from within the Epson drivers) if your duplexing is causing the paper to wrinkle (very easy to adjust).

Works flawlessly

Installed quickly and works without any issues. Not sure why Epson didn't include this feature with the printer originally. Does require you to go into the print properties each time you want to duplex print as the Epson printer driver defaults to no duplexing, but that's no different than any duplex copy machine would operate.

Only issue regarding duplex printing on an inkjet is the cheaper 20lb. paper tends to bleed through such that you can see shadows of printing from the other side. Probably worth switching to heavier paper for duplex printing.

Should be standard equipment.

This product works perfectly. I don't understand why it is not incorporated into the design of the printer as standard equipment. It is in my opinion a 'must have'. Save paper, but more importantly save on postage. Those extra ounce postage expenses are cut in have by double sided printing.

Love it!

Artisan 800 Duplexer

The duplexer works perfectly in Windows XP. The original description said it only worked on Mac OS. Fortunately I didn't believe Epson could be that crazy and ordered one anyway. Takes about one minute to install.

Saved me from buying a new printer.

The duplexer arrived promptly. It was brand new as advertised. The original duplexer had stripped its gears from a paper jam. This was a perfect replacement.

I don't have any idea why Epson says this is Mac only, but it works with xp, vista, win7, etc.. Get it!

Great addition for a low price

For such a low price, I save a lot of money on paper. It's great to be able to use the flip side of sheets. I just bought a second Artisan and I'm looking to buy a second duplexer.

Epson Artisan Duplexer

Excellent price, on-time delivery, installation in less than a minute, painless double sided printing. Does it get any better than this?

Talk About Convenience and Saving.

I have this Epson Duplexer on an Artisan 800 printer. It's just a little plastic thing you hook into the back of the printer. It doesn't seem to have slowed the printer down at all, and has saved big time on paper. I use it for printing out manuals, study guides for school, etc. When I need both sides printed I have to set it each time, but I wouldn't want it double-side printing all the time, either. I love this handy little thing! It didn't cost much and looks like a cheapie when you get it (probably because there are no electronics in it), but it's sure been handy for me!.... (You might want to go to Epson.com to make sure it works with your printer first)
