Good product! Happy with this buy!

I used this 18 AWG for connections between COB LED strips. (I picked this thickness to minimize voltage drop due to distance) This cable was nice becasuse if you bend it it keeps the shape you bend it to, which makes for easy soldering and neat and tight connections. It was also very easy to tin and had good copper. I like that it's 100ft because I can use it for all my future projects. :)

Stop, buy this wire

This is the best stranded copper wire I’ve bought in a long time. It feels great in your hand, very smooth. Flexible and top quality. It’s worth more than the cost. Strips easily with wire strippers. True copper, not tinned. I was so impressed with the wire I bought an extra 100’ in case I need it in the future. And I still have more than half the spool left from the first one I bought.

Perfect for adding some custom lines for a car radio install!

Purchased this to do a custom wire lining install in my car for a radio double din upgrade. I used the wires to extend certain wires to reach the front. Shield is thick and the wiring is solid as well compared to the cheap stuff they put in some car radio wires. Overall so glad I bought this and I have extra to do any other wiring work.

Excellent speaker wire

In the past, I have not paid attention to CCA vs OFC wire. After using OFC wire, I will definitely never use CCA again. The OFC wire is much more sturdy and solid which makes it easier to strip and crimp onto terminals. The wire seems pretty good, quality wise, and true to the advertised gauge.

Easy to use and well made

I used the product to wire my four speakers for my audio system and to wire my 24 volt LED lighting strips. It is well made and flexible. The black and red make it easy to maintain proper polarity. However, I wish that it were also made in 20 gauge for even greater flexibility when the current carrying capacity of 18 gauge is not needed.

As for sound quality, all wire of the same gauge will work equally well.

Real copper and correct gauge

It works good and is the correct gauge. It was what I was looking for. It takes solder very well.

Note: There is no writing on the cable at all to say what gauge it is or any other thing about it.

Good wire on a spool

It's nice to find a 100 ft length of wire on a spool. Some sellers sell the wire in a coil which tends to cause kinks, particularly as you get to the end of the coil. As for the wire itself, l have no complaints. This is great wire to use for low-current automotive circuits like LED lights or panel switches

This is some groovy Wire Yo!

Used this as 12v line in my vehicle for a top secret mission!

Had just enough to wire everything I needed to at this point in the project.

Seems well made, seems durable enough, and easy to work with. Time will tell, but seems to hold up.

5 out of 5 would probably get again if/when needed.

Cheers to You!

Question & Answer

Question :

Silicone wire cannot be soldered without melting the insulation, is this wire silicone?

Answer :

Silicone wire can definitely be soldered without melting the insulation. You should be making your solder joints in under 3 seconds or else you will get the wire too hot and melt the insulation.

Question :

Is it an audio cable suitable for connecting my 8 ohms speakers to the main audio system , please ??

Answer :

This is what is commonly referred to as "speaker wire".

It is used for wiring to the speakers in most audio systems that use a bare wire connection. In general it is acceptable for most speaker wiring.

If it is what is needed in your specific installation or not depends on multiple factors such as where it is to be used such as home/auto/marine application, how long the wires will be, how much power you have, and how it is routed. Depending on where you live if you are using it in a home installation there may be certain building codes that dictate what you have to use if you are running the wires thru the wall.

Be aware that there are no terminal ends on this wire so if your system does not accept bare wire you will have to buy the correct terminal ends to put on this wire for a proper installation.

Question :

Will this aw18 gauge work with my 8 ohm speakers into my stereo receiver?

Answer :

If it’s less than 30 watts it should be fine. If you’re running higher wattage or an audiophile system go with something higher quality.

Question :

The item title says 18awg but the specifications say 20awg. which is it?

Answer :

It’s 18awg. I looked at the item on Amazon, I don’t see where it says 20awg.

Question :

Velocity factor of zip AWG 18 (one wire) ?

Answer :

BG count only if overload

Question :

Will this handle 12 Volts DC 2 amps @ 100 ft?

Answer :

The wire can handle over 10 amps no issue, but for that distance it will drop 2.5V at 2 amps. Going up to 14 gauge will drop 1V and 12 gauge will drop 0.6V.

Question :

Silicone wire cannot be soldered without melting the insulation, is this wire silicone?

Answer :

The insulation is PVC not silicone. The wire is a good grade of copper. You need to strip or remove the insulation from the copper wire before you try to solder it. You can use spade connectors for 18 gage that crimp on to the bare copper wire that don't have to be soldered.

Question :

how well does the 18 gauge wire work with LED lighting up to about 17000 lumens?

Answer :

It has worked well for me. I wired my 12/24 v house with this, almost 50 12v led lamps. Not sure how many lumens.

Question :

Is there any writing on the cable? I'm making some specialty cables where the wires are seen, and it would be best if the cables weren't printed on

Answer :

No print. Just black and red bonded.

Question :

What is the max amp?

Answer :

Not sure I used it for 12V
