Hi, of course you can, no matter where you are, as long as the satellite is in C-band or KU-band.

It works very well in the USA. Start at dishfinder.com to identify the longitudes of the satellites you want. Add a couple on each side. Enter the menu system of the V8. Delete as many satellites from the arc as you want to enter; then enter the names and longitudes of the satellites you want. Since dish network uses a scrambled signal you will not see a picture on the display, but you will capture signal strength, and be able to lock it in.
