If you are looking here you already know that Nikon does not sell a replacement collar for the 200-500. When the knurled knob on the adjusting screw on my collar broke I had to find a replacement and fast, This collar did the trick nicely. It is sturdy, fits well, and was easy to place. It has remained snug with no need for adjustment.
One negative note. If you like to quickly adjust from landscape to portrait by loosening the collar and pivoting the camera you may want to pay the additional money for a Really Right Stuff 200-500 collar. The only shortfall I see in this one is that the pivot from LS to port and back is not as fluid as I would like.
One comical note: Amazon asked me to rate this collar for "sheerness". Not sure why anyone would care about that but if you do, it is not sheer. ;) |

★★★★★ | Outstanding Tripod Collar, this is what Nikon should put on their lens. |

Love this collar! No more need for additional plates for use with an Arca Swiss clamp. The collar is very well made, and the bottom foot is long enough to get four fingers wrapped around it. Awesome value! |

Wanted an Arca Swiss friendly designed foot in order to not have to add an accessory plates to tripod collars. This fit the bill just fine. Fit is solid in my RRS, Induro, and Promaster heads. The stops to help prevent the lens from sliding off the end of the mounting plate are appreciated. My Black Rapid attachment can be screwed to the foot from the top when mounting the lens to a tripod or monopod. |

Love the length of the foot and built in arca mount on this collar. Makes it easier to hand hold plus has built in strap loop on the front of the foot. Very sturdy, and mostly used on my wimberly monopod gimbal mount where the longer foot help out with the balance of the Nikon 200 - 500 lens when zoomed out to 500mm. |

★★★★★ | Great replacement collar for the NIkon 200-500 f/5.6E VR Lens |

The fit and finish on the collar are top notch. The rotation seems smooth, and it is very nice to have the Arca plate built in rather than rely on a separate plate. I also asked a question here prior to purchasing the vendor got back with me right away. |

I was about to spend over $200 on the kirk collar then I saw this one for less then half the price and decided to give it a try. I am very happy I did, this collar is very good quality and does the job. Highly recommend. |

★★★★★ | A big improvement over the Nikon mount! |

I was a little nervous when I ordered this, but it is really nicely made. With the factory mount you have to attach an Arca Swiss plate, and the screw that attaches the plate invariably works it way loose, so you are constantly tightening it. This solves that problem elegantly. Highly recommended. |

At first i was kind of doubt its was going to work well beacuse of the price tag but after checking the almost $200 version on B&H i was like what the heck. So I order it and when i tru it on my lens it fit perfectly even better the the original one so if this help someone with the same problem as mine just get it you won’t be disappointed. |

I confirm what the three other reviewers (at this writing) say. It is well made and fits perfectly. The attention to detail and finish are excellent. I cannot imagine what a more expensive version would provide that this doesn't. |

Works great on my Nikon 200-500. Great improvement over the stock unit. I don't understand why Nikon can't make a good tripod foot. It is like their Achilles Heel hahahaha. But seriously, if you have a 200-500, get this. |
