Great wire at a great price, shipped fast.

This is about the 4th or 5th order of the 100' spools of this 16 gauge speaker wire. I've been an audiophile for decades and I've used all different brands and types. For my vintage collection of speakers and receivers, this is my go-to wire. Now, some snobbish elite know-it-alls would say this is 16 gauge and not hi-end. To that I would say, you go right ahead and spend $100./foot for speaker wire then tell me you can hear a yuge difference. Fine, sucker, whatever makes you feel superior. For me and my purposes, this is great. I used the 14 gauge of this same wire, but found it difficult to fit into most speaker terminals from the equipment of the 70's & 80's. Try some. Hope this helps.

Great performance and easy to work with.

These speaker wires seem to work great (I used AWG 16). I used them to hook up cheap-o Polk Audio speakers (the T-series), to an entry-level Pioneer AV-receiver (VSX-LX103 Elite). I've never done anything like this before, and in my experience I found the wires to be very easy to strip using a cheap (but quite nice) wire stripper from the hardware store. I also found the wire very easy to twist prior to inserting into banana plugs for insertion into the back of the AV-receiver, or for insertion into the plugs at the back of the Polk Audio speakers (which did not accept banana plugs). The red stripe on the outside of the wire was very useful to ensure that I was keeping the correct polarity, and I also found the wire surprisingly flexible. Finally, the sound from the system that I set up is very, very good, and I don't hear any interference at all, even though there is a lot of other electrical wires touching and/or very, very close to the speaker wires at the back of the TV. I can only conclude that this speaker wire is really quite good, and the price seems fair (I paid $15 for 50 feet).

MaxBrite makes excellent pure copper speaker wire

16 gauge pure copper speaker wire of excellent quality; flexible enough for easy car installation. 16 gauge is an appropriate thickness given the run lengths inside a typical car. Getting pure copper (OFC) instead of copper clad aluminum (CCA) will make a greater difference rather than going 14 gauge for this application. Good sound quality.

For an in-home application, esp. for longer runs, I would definitely go 14 or even 12 gauge if using a high powered amplifier or receiver.

I used the 16 gauge to rewire the front speakers in my Jeep XJ Cherokee where the original factory speaker wires had the common breaks in them at the front door jambs; now my front speakers finally work after years of putting off this chore. I bought the 100 ft spool; will be using some of the balance for a pickup truck restoration project doing a full speaker rewire. The MaxBrite brand of this speaker wire is of excellent quality and highly recommended.

Works as advertised.

I used this 16/2 gauge wire for my Rockfish wireless sender/receiver for my rear surround sound speakers. The wire is pure copper (not coated copper aluminum) oxygen free and stranded for better speaker performance. One wire has a red line and the other wire has black letters with wire information so you can make sure your connections are red to red and black to black on the speakers and receiver. I recommend this wire.

High Quality Speaker Wire

This is exactly what high quality/performance 16 gauge speaker wire is supposed to (and used to) be. Thick copper strands that make it easy to work with and strips with strippers as it should...unlike some Big Name Brands that use teeny tiny strands of copper and then wrap it in so much insulation to make it appear to be super high performance when it is not. Also the fact that regular wire strippers don't work on that junk. This wire is the real deal...HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Good speaker cable!

I'm pretty happy with it. It seems to be good quality. Good feel. A little stiff but I'm just used to finer strands. In fact the thicker diameter gives me less trouble. It doesn't get dirty so easy and is easy to work with. I compared it to 16 gauge monster cable xp. Matt

Great value! Worthy of my Klipsch Cornwalls!

Great speaker cable for the price!
Years ago, I would have laughed if you told me you could discern the difference in sound quality between speaker cables. Now, I find it to be quite apparent. I was previously using some cheap 16 gauge speaker cable from Walmart. I replaced it with this, and the sound quality difference is very obvious. This speaker cable is clearly Superior. Without getting into the details, everything just sounds better. I am using it with Klipsch Cornwall speakers. I will buy it again when I need more speaker cable. It is a great value! Highly recommended for budget-conscious music lovers!

Great speaker wire!

Excellent wire. Hooked up a small 5.1 system for my nephew. The Red stripe is super helpful to keep + and - separate and on track with your connections. System fired right up once everything was connected and configured. Small system but sounds amazing in his smaller room. Definitely one of the important components some people quickly forget about or overlook in building out their sound systems, imo. This was the best bang for my buck that I could find in a reasonable time frame.

Good wire, easy to use

When I buy product, I like to read the negative reviews to see what is going on. I saw there were some on this product but I decided to buy anyway. This is good wire. In fact far better than I originally used. (To be accurate I bought 16 gauge wire) It is nice and flexible, the insulation is well formed, It is exactly what you would expect for a Copper wire. I recommend this wire. If I need more this is what I am going to order.

Sounds great

Had to get a roll of speakers wire. Moved in new home and the placement of speakers did not accommodate the shelving unit. Had to move one speaker away from receiver. Not enough wire. The wire had a better sound quality. Sometimes with the original wires the sound didn't come out. Had to jiggle the wire for sounds. No problems now. Everything is fine.

Question & Answer

Question :

Can this be used as speaker wire for 60 watt 4 ohm car speakers?

Answer :

I have them running 4 ohm atmos speakers in my home and they sound great. So yes, they will work fine.

Question :

which wire is positive? which one is negative?

Answer :

Recommendation, use the wire with the lettering for your positive hookup.

Question :

What is max wattage for the speaker wire in a 2 ohm car setup?

Answer :

When running wires to speakers the ohm load is not that important. What you want to consider the wattage from the amplifier. If you are running 75 to 100 watts RMS to your speakers go with 16AWG wire. Anything less than 75 watts you can use a smaller gauge wire. If you wiring up subwoofers that are powered with 200 watts or more I would us 10AWG wire. Hope this helps. If you are talking about amp power cable it really depends on how long you cable run will be.

Question :

Is this wire pliable.

Answer :

Don't know how pliable you are looking for, but it is very soft but durable. It's wire.

Question :

I have to run wire to Bose Cubes at roughly 25ft distance will this wire work?

Answer :

I'm not familiar with Bose Cubes but if they accept standard speaker wire yes. I'm happy with the quality of the wire.

Question :

can this be used inside walls?

Answer :

Yes you can

Question :

Witch color is positive red or black and this speaker wires are both gold color haven’t done this in awhile I appreciate any plain English answers?

Answer :

Red is positive and black is negative. If you look closely at the conductors, you will notice that one has a red stripe. Use that as positive on both ends of your connections.

Question :

Is this rated for in wall use?

Answer :

I’m no expert but I’ve used several different types of wire in different applications (commercial & residential) & this is by far the best. You’ll notice in the Product Information: “Ideal for Low Voltage Wiring, LED, Security Camera Systems, or Speaker Wire.” Low voltage means it won’t get hot enough to start a fire, if that’s your concern. If you’re usage involves a very long distance and you’re concerned about maintaining high quality sound, the “Oxygen Free Pure Copper - UL Listed Class 2” part of the description will take care of that. This is by far the best wire I’ve used. The sound is crystal clear.

Question :

Is this made in the USA?

Answer :

I believe it is. Just look up the name on Google and see manufacturers origin.
