So far, so good, better than expected

I must admit I had my doubts when I realized after ordering it was Hosa. My experience with their bottom-price parts, borne out through other reviews and pictures showing almost DIY-quality connections as well, is that you got what you paid for: a simple bare-bones cable with a shelf life, and when you get 6’ for $6, small surprise.

I never even saw Hosa with REAN connectors and higher quality parts, but this is that. The cable is thick and well shielded, the connectors are solid, and there’s 0 noise. Do you necessarily need REAN? No, but if you’re going for high quality cabling, don’t cheap out on a monitor out or something else, or if it’s your main cable, say connecting an entertainment system to speakers, might as well have it be a good one. Besides, it’s still cheap compared to many others.

Also, far too many go to a stereo 1/4” TRS. Yet, most of the time, you’ll be plugging in to a two-port input.. most pieces of audio equipment I’ve had usually have L/R, meaning if you get a RCA L/R to single TRS 1/4”, you’ll end up using a Y-splitter anyway. Another connection, another noise source, best avoided, so that makes this particularly useful.

Perfect cables for studio monitors placed "non-conventionally"

As previously mentioned, cables split all the way down the length-- convenient "stoppers" are placed on the cable shielding to allow for this to be done in a proper manner. Perfect cables for studio monitors placed "non-conventionally"

Hosa Quality

Exactly what I expected from Hosa as I've bought their cables before. I used this cable to connect my electric piano keyboard to a stereo receiver and play the keyboard through a set of high quality Bose speakers.

Question & Answer

Question :

is this one cable connected together or two separate cables?

Answer :

This cable is two cables but they are fused together, so in effect it is a single cable....

Question :

Can this be used to connect a turntable with a phono preamp to two active studio monitors?

Answer :

Short answer yes. However, many monitors take a line (balanced) TRS (tip ring sleeve) 1/4" inputs. This cable has unbalanced 1/4" TS connectors so there could be a little electrical interference or humming/buzzing.

Question :

Where does the cable split? Can i split as far as i want ?

Answer :

A few inches back from the end. There's a collar to prevent it splitting further but it can be removed without tools. I had to look at it to check and was pleasantly surprised. Nice touch!

Question :

Will this cables work with my kawai digital piano? i'm tiring to connect speakers to the piano but i don't know what i need ? help ?!

Answer :

Not sure what model of Kawai you have, but most have a "phones" jacks (1/4" RCA) where you can connect two pairs of headphones. When connected, if equipped, the piano speaker will be muted. You can connect a cable with 1/4" RCA on one end to a "monitor" speaker. These speaker can have 1/4" RCA inputs, XLRs...etc, so all that said your patch cable must match your piano one one end and the speaker for the input.
Additionally, if your using an amplifier between the speaker and the piano, all the above applies. If you use a powered monitor speaker, then no amplifier is needed.

Question :

Can this be used to connect a turntable with a phono preamp to two active studio monitors?

Answer :

Should work your application.

Question :

What is the difference between this and the Hosa Cable CPR202 ??

Answer :

Serviceable connectors. Otherwise, same connectors/applications

Question :

What is the difference between these two cables (hosa hpr-015x2 pro dual cable 1/4-inch ts - rca) and hpr-010x2 dual rean 1/4 inch ts to rca pro s

Answer :

Just looks like the difference is in the length, 10' vs 15'.

Question :

What's the difference between this rca to rca than a standard one? like a hosa cpr 204-dual?

Answer :

An rca to rca has the same sets of plugs on both ends. This cable has rca plugs on one end and 1/4" unbalanced plugs on the other end. I use this cable to go out of my sound mixer with the 1/4" plugs into either a powered speaker with the rca plugs or even my Bose L1C.

Question :

Does anyone know if i can use this to connect from banana plug output on Onkyo receiver to a rca in for home theater sound bar?

Answer :

It will not work. First of all, is the Soundbar have its own power, do you have to plug it in to an AC outlet?
An RCA input is usually for a low-level output not a speaker output of the Onkyo. I am an Engineer and Home Theater installer. Let me know model # of the Soundbar and I can recommend a cable
