Like this one

Very sturdy and well made. I out this under my hood for my amp fuse. Like how I can remove the fuse without removing the wires. I remove the fuse anytime my car gets worked on. Don't want a mechanic blowing my speakers.

Great value, great quality. Just buy it!

I was too impatient to wait for Prime to deliver this fuse holder so I bought another one similar at a local car stereo shop. The $30 fuse holder from the car stereo shop was junk compared to this fuse holder. This fuse holder was 1/3 the price and built 10 times better. Even feels super heavy, far better quality than anything I’ve seen. Will be ordering more.

I have this hooked to a 36V forklift battery to protect my Tripp Lite inverter

I have this hooked to a 36V forklift battery to protect my Tripp Lite inverter in case of an internal dead short. It seems like it is going to work out great.

300 amp, amp wire fuse.

Noticed that my 150 amp fuse was broken on the plastic holder, asked my audio guy and he recommended 250 amp, but I cane across this and asked him if 300 would hurt anything and he said it was "a go". So far so good and even seems to help my subs work less hard, seemed like they were "struggling" before this upgrade.

Excellent product!

Another great high quality product from Installgear. I have bought wire and several other things from them and all of it is very nice quality. These fuse holders are heavy duty and rugged. You cant tell in the pictures but these things have some heft to them. Very nice, i was pleasantly surprised. Installgear products are high quality at a reasonable price. If I need anymore audio gear in the future the first company I'm going to check is Installgear.

Great for 2-Gauge Wire Runs

Great fuse case. Sturdy, good connector with optional gauge reducer, and sold mounting surface. Used mine with high strength Velcro strips, very solid.

Question & Answer

Question :

Would this work for a 6000 watt amp?

Answer :

I assume this is a 6,000 watt car audio amplifier. If it is a true 6,000 watt (most are not) then at 12V the wires would be carrying 500 amps!!! Using 1/0 copper wire the amps will max out at 120 amps before exceeding the wire gets too hot. So no. you need something a lot bigger.

Question :

Is this cover waterproof? I'm looking for something to mount near the battery box on the tongue of my camper.

Answer :

I would not consider this fuse holder waterproof. Water ingress could/would occur at the wire lugs.

Question :

Will this be efficient with fuses bigger than 300?

Answer :

Not sure I used 250 amp, the seller usually responds though.

Question :

Will this fit 00 wire without removing strands?

Answer :

No but you can get an adapter that will work here is what you can use Harmony Audio HA-WR04 Car Stereo Power or Ground 1/0 to 4 Gauge Wire Reducer - Nickel Plated

Question :

I am able to get a 2/0 cable in this without removing strands. Is there any reason not to use it with a 300A fuse?

Answer :

Do you mean 30Amp? 30 Amp fuse will work....300Amp....I would not try

Question :

What torque should be used on the screws?

Answer :

Since there is no visible marking on the screws I will have to assume they are the lowest quality hardness grade.
The two top screws are M10-1.0 using the ISO898/1 class 4.6 torque chart is 24 ft-lb / 32 Nm
The fuse screws are M8-1.25 using the ISO898/1 class 4.6 torque chart is 12 ft-lb / 16 Nm
Both screws use a 5mm hex wrench. I always just hand tighten them and have no problems with it.

Question :

Does it's work for a 3000 watt powerdrive truck inverter?

Answer :

It should. To use the entire 3000 watts at 120 volts, it will take 25 amps. This unit has a 300 amp fuse.

Question :

I lost one of the screws that hold the wires down, the gold allen screw things. Is there anyway i can get an exrta?

Answer :

The top screw is a M10-1.0 and the fuse screw is a M8-1.25. both use a 5mm hex wrench to tighten. You can probably pick up the correct size bolt at the hardware store. If it is too long just cut off with a hacksaw and file the end.

Question :

This item ships with 1 short vinyl tube (less than 1 cm long) inserted into each lug. How do I use these? ...or are they just for shipping?

Answer :

Just for shipping. Remove for use.

Question :

Will this work for 2/0 gauge wire?

Answer :

No it has 1/0 lugs for wire
