I bought the Quick Release Roof Mount so that I could mount a King Tailgater on the roof of my motorhome. I found it easy to install, though I did mount it backwards as the prewiring in my motorhome were too short to mount facing the front. I cover the hole cut to find the prewiring with the King cover (separate purchase). I mounted the Quick Release with 3/4" stainless steel screws. I then covered the screws and any potential leak area with sealant. The installation took just over half an hour once I decided what materials to use.
The Quick Mount itself is easy to use. I can remove the Tailgater in about a minute from my rooftop if I need it for other activities or don't have a clear satellite view when camping. I have about 3,000 miles on the motorhome since I installed it. Other than a few bugs on the latching mechanism facing forward, no problems. |
