When I ordered this I was skeptical about the feeling when the product arrived. I thought it would be just all plastic and perhaps slippery.

The feel is just like the outside grip area of a Canon Camera. It feels amazing and dual batteries and the ability to use AA (cartridge comes with it) was a nice touch. I also purchased a direct power AC pack that fits right in with the pop out door for the power cord. The Portrait (Vertical) buttons for taking pictures is wonderful, no strain on your wrist trying to keep a level picture.

This is the 2nd Neewer holder I’ve had. I recently upgraded my camera and had to buy a new one. The quality is very good, and I have yet to run out of power on a photo shoot. The latch for the battery compartment door would not stay closed and needed to be modified with some electrical tape. The battery compartment door from the camera stows on the grip so you can’t lose it. Overall I think it’s a must have for any photographer.

I can't give you an exact answer but can tell you that on a full charge I have shot a little over 2 hours of HD video and 1200 pics on same charge with battery to spare.

Mine was for a Canon 70D, it holds two batteries, the camera operates off one battery and when it declines below usage voltage the other battery is used.you do not have to remove anything, you effectively are doubling your batter life...also you will recieve a attachment to hold some AA batteries. Rest assured you will probably never run out of battery life..I would also recomend Wasbi batteries for your 80D..Amazon sells them at a great price..

Yes. I use on a tripod and it works fine. Make sure you have a sturdy tripod since the battery grip adds weight. I used it on a tripod last weekend.
