Best deal in rack-mountable line conditioners

Can you find a better deal on a quality rack-mountable line conditioner? I can't. Since most of the other reviews are from people using this for audio equipment, I'll give the perspective from the data center. While line conditioning isn't as important for network equipment as it is for audio, it can still help to prolong the life of the equipment and prevent random failures. This unit does what it says and comes at a price so low you can buy 2 for the price of the next serious competitor. So that's exactly what I did. Having two in the rack makes cable management much easier. Also, you can back one with a UPS and the other without, giving you easy options for various devices in a home lab type of environment. For enterprises, plug each of your redundant server power connections into one, then plug each of those into an independent power line or battery-backup line and you've just saved some money on costly power rendundancy.

The only con I can say about it is the lack of any type of guard over the power button. That's where the audio/data difference shows. In the data center, flipping that power button hopefully wouldn't be, but most likely would be, disastrous. So putting a little cover over it to avoid accidental flipping is more than worth the 10 cent investment.

The power is in your hands

Excellent power conditioner. I use a Furman for my guitar rig, a Monster for my PA rig, and this bad boy for my bass rig. I will say, it performs exactly as advertised. Powers a power amp, sonic maximizer, pedalboard, and my phone charger. Does not add any hum, most likely take hum away when playing out (bars with neon lights, terrible electrical). Smooth black finish and the outlets have a firm grip on the plug, so you will not have to worry about accidentally being unplugged. If your like me and like to keep as many as your hard working dollars in your pocket then you will definitely like to hear that this is the same quality, if not a little better in the Monster's case, than other more costly power conditioners. I have always paid close attention to what kind of power is feeding my equipment and it is nice to have some piece of mind. 100% Recommended from a semi-pro musician

Purchased in 2013 - It's still going strong

I came back to write a review for this because I keep looking it up in my Amazon history to recommend to friends and folks on the internet. I moved into an old apartment building (converted house from the 1880's) and I had issues with my custom PC not running stably, I could no longer overclock to the same levels as before, it would just get unstable. However I've been using this Pyle unit as a power conditioner since 2013 and it has been performing perfectly, everything is running smooth and as stable as it was prior to moving to this place. I run a surge protector from one of the outlets on the Pyle to add an extra layer of protection, with just the PC and monitors plugged in. It works great.

Very impressive

I've been a guitarist in and out of bands for 25 years or so. And never did I think to buy a power conditioner. But my favorite amp the last couple years has been an '87 Marshall Mosfet Lead 100 that's very sensitive to power. Plug it into the wrong outlet and it'll turn into a giant radio antenna even with humbuckers. So I picked up this Pyle power conditioner. And not only did the radio antenna problems go away, the amp sounds just overall better. Richer and warmer than it ever has before. Power conditioners are made for all kinds of needs. Maybe this won't fit yours. But it definitely fit mine.

The front outlet is very convenient

I didn’t have any noise issues with my rack, I bought this so I’d have a place inside the rack to plug everything into and just have 1 power cord hanging out the back. This fit the bill perfectly and the front outlet has proven to be very convenient.
I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a great deal

Good value and sturdy build!

Received my Pyle surge protector/power strip from Amazon today. It arrived right on time and upon inspection, the product exceeded my expectations. The 14 AWG cord well made and is heavy enough to supply the full 15 amps that this unit is rated at. Although my product will be rack-mounted in my PA road case, The power cord looks sturdy enough to take a beating in the real world. The steel housing is put together well and has a nice finish too! The rubber feet are a nice touch if you were using this as a stand-alone unit, but are easily removed for rack mounting. The brushed black aluminum faceplate is probably 1/8" thick and will have no issues with rack mounting. Some of the other units I looked at were touted as having wimpy mounting brackets. This unit will be just fine. The surge protection is always good to have and the added value of the line filtering will come in handy at the clubs. Neon signs and questionable wiring are always a concern. The front-mounted outlet is also a great feature and I can see it coming in very handy! I believe this will be a welcome addition to my PA rig and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to you as well!

WOW!!

All I can say is WOW!!!
I had terrible high frequency dirty ground noise and it all is gone!
I play keyboard at my church and my powered monitor was almost unbearable...until I plugged this in!
I would give it 6 stars if possible!
Thanks a PYLE!

Did the trick.

My very old but amazingly still clear Nakamichi computer sound system developed a stammer. It was either the aging system or a condition that developed from the air conditioner on the roof. I noticed that the light on my sure protector was stammering like the sound so I figured it was some sort of electrical interference, even after passing through 2 surge protectors. Thought I would try this before I shelled out for a new speakers. This did the trick. No more interference. Plus, I combined two surge protectors into the back of this one unit. Very happy. Regarding surge protection, here in Santa Barbara electrical surges are about as common as hens teeth so I will take my chances or stick one of my old surge protectors inline with this unit.

Nice unit

Surprised at the build quality considering the low cost.
I like having access to an outlet on the front panel.
People ... It's a $50.00 unit.
It works well as an organizer for plugging in multi outlets in a rack. Has a master ON/OFF switch
"Claims to have hum filter" we'll have to see if that is ever tested.
Don't expect. a 400.00 filter/surge protection for 50.00.
But for cheap convenience, this fits the bill perfectly.

Simple and doesn't add noise to signal

I needed a rack mount power supply for my studio gear (interface, preamp, compressor, reverb, etc) and was hesitant to spend the big bucks on a power conditioner because I didn't have any signal noise yet (and I'm not a professional, just a dork with some cheap gear). This is basically just a rack-based power strip and for that purpose it works absolutely fine. Has enough plugs so I can get my monitors in there too. The front plug has been handy too.

Yes, when you rack mount it, you can remove feet.

Question :

How long is the power cord?

Answer :

Its about 5 feet long.

Question :

help with ground loop noise and hum?

Answer :

This is rated with having a built-in AC Noise Filter (Aluminum Front Panel/Steel Chassis/Operating Voltage:115V-60Hz) BUT! If you have an extreme ground loop noise & hum problem you will want more help than the PYLE PCO850 15 can give you.

Question :

Does the front outlet remain powered when the switch is off?

Answer :

No...when switch is off , all outlets are off

Question :

brownout protection?

Answer :

Not sure I understand your question. This Power Conditioner Simply Provides Surge Protection Control - Spike and Surge Protection. This is NOT a Battery UPS Back-Up Power Supply for when you have a main power outage.

Question :

what are the Dimensions for rack size (width)? i have 19 inch rack mounts. will this unit fit?

Answer :

Hi, the total dimension of the unit (L x W x H) is 6.5 x 22 x 3.5 inches. You may check other details of the unit by visiting our website pyleaudio.com. Type the model number on the search box PCO850 for more details. Thank you.

Question :

What is the width of the actual box? (not counting the mounting brackets)

Answer :

16 &15/16 inches are the actual width.

Question :

I have a cable modem that keeps turning off due to power dips (not blackouts) in the house. Will this solve that problem?

Answer :

I'd say you need a UPC rather than a power conditioner. If I was having frequent power dips, I'd call the power company and, if they say the problem isn't at their end, an electrician.

Question :

Are these UL rated devices?

Answer :

Hi, we have our own in house safety testing laboratories, and we make sure that all the power supplies and internal components that we use in our products meet the strictest safety certifications and standards. All our products must pass the North American standard in safety testing before being approved by our Research and Development team for sales to the public.
