Beautiful mic

It’s a kick ass ribbon. I love it on whatever I use it on. Shaves off that crackly high end just like you need.

Like an old gf that still likes you enough to invite you over late. Familiar, comfortable and easy. This one won’t start asking about daylight activities at some unfortunate point.

It’s a little pricey, sure. I’d put this over any condenser mic in its price range. It’s just more sophisticated, for a lack of a better term. It’s a dual side address, cardioid pattern: so backside reflected sound is important. There is no switch to switch patterns. It’s kinda a little off putting initially, but I keep going to it and find myself mixing it in more and louder than other mics. It FEELS great and looks great too.

The mic “clip” is a great design. The mic threads into the mic holder which threads onto a standard mic stand. The adjustment screws on the mic holder are solid, heavy and feel very high quality. Won’t give future problems me thinks.

For the price you cannot buy a better Mic

This Mike is so exceptional that should be a $1500 Mic easily! Royer knows what they’re doing and they make great Mics! I have a matched pair of wire 121s and OMG I just can’t ask for anything better

Great alternative to an R121 for live guitars

I bought one of these for myself and another band member has an R-121 so i’ve got to compare them side by side. The R10 is exceptional and great on guitars. The R10 and R121 sound almost identical except that the R10 has a pronounced low end roll off which works better on high energy sources like guitar cabinets, brass and drums. It’s not as subtle and detailed as an R121 on say a choir or an acoustic guitar, but for live band sound reinforcement this is the best mic I’ve found to date for electric guitars and it’s hard to tell the difference to an R121 if you high pass above 80hz.

Excellent mic but a little quiet.

A pretty expensive mic for me, but worth it. Not really very hot signal but my interface handles it fine (Focusrite Scarlet gen 3). Seems to do better with a loud source like guitar or bass amp. If you’re planning on using for vocals you WILL need a pop filter. Because of the figure 8 pattern it picks up some of the room which is great. Just an awesome mic!!
