- Do not clean pouches before laminating, test a small amount in a corner before use especially on important documents, and do not use acetone
- The on/off button can be found either as a toggle switch on the back or a push button on the top
- Choose your pouch setting, either 3 mil or 5 mil depending on the thickness of the pouch you are working with
- Warm up times can take between 1-6 minutes depending on your machine, your machine is warm enough to start laminating once the ready light illuminates.
- If your machine has a feeding tray, ensure it is extended in the ready position
- Center your item inside the pouch checking that you leave laminate margin on every side for best sealing results
- Have some fun with it by stacking multiple layers of colorful paper, confetti or lettering on top of one another
- Check to make sure the pouch lines up to the opening to prevent an uneven or angled feed through
- Remove any objects that could get in the way of your project as it feeds out of the machine
- Avoid pulling or obstructing the pouch as it feeds through the laminator
- Your project will be hot when it exits the machine so use caution

Both the laminator and the Pouches are great !!! I bought my laminator from another store and ordered some of the pouches from amazon. My very first test was great. The results were exactly for what I was expecting. I need this for some general needs. Nothing professional. But the look is not cheap, it’s really high standard. I tried almost all sizes of the pouches and all are great!
The only downside of this system is that the laminator heats up within a few minutes which is perfectly fine for me. Never used a laminator before so can’t compare with any other that gets ready sooner than this. Who the hell can not wait 2-3 minutes?

Does the pack come with a carrier card?
Answer :
Not sure what a "Carrier Card" is, but I assume it is something to hold your laminated item. This package, as other Scotch Laminating Pouches, only contains the double-sheet of plastic. You put your card or picture between the two sheets and feed it into the Laminating machine. When it comes out, the two sheets are fused together, protecting your item. You can then insert it into most any holder. They also make non-thermal laminating pouches but I don't recall if they come in this size.

Why is the 5"x7" Scotch laminating pouches way more expensive than the larger pouches?

Because they are per-cut and it save you time.

Can I print on these before laminating? And if so, will the ink be permanent?
Answer :
I have no idea if you could do that as I've never tried. Why can't you print what you want to print on a 5X7 index card and then laminate it? I'm pretty sure you could print on these with a "sharpie" once the laminating process is complete but have no idea how long the printing might last depending on the environment they are exposed to.

I've only used it 3 or 4 times to this point. But so far, I'd say "Yes", it's worth buying. It seems to seal very well, the cutter works good, and it comes with a corner-rounding punch.
