All other cards I have tried would generate an error message plus audible beep stating that the card might not record or play. I needed a spare card with extra capacity after being added at the 11th hour to the media roster for a major sporting event and decided to pull out my trusty, familiar, old Sony Alpha a100 DSLR and the beautiful old glass in the APO Telephoto from my wet film days. However, editor wanted shots in RAW format which meant I needed a lot more capacity or limiting the number of shots I could take over the day.

I purchased this for use in a Sony NEX-7 camera which does not ship with even a small capacity media card.
Using the highest resolution settings of the NEX-7 (RAW plus .jpeg capture) each still image will approach nearly 30 MB in size. At fullest resolution .jpg (no RAW), NEX-7 still images are each 5-6 MB, and this card will record over 860 images.
Video recording capacity (as used in the NEX-7) ranges from 46 minutes to to over 300 minutes at the camera's lowest resolution .mp4 setting.
For either audio or video capture, the battery will probably need re-charging before you fill this card to capacity.
Many current Sony products (including the NEX-7) will also accommodate SD media cards, so unless your capture devices are all Sony, you might not need the Sony proprietary form factor.
