25' worked for 2560x1440 @ 144hz/fps
Verified Purchase
Had to run part way around a room from the computer to a new screen. My old 25ft DisplayPort cable worked fine for the previous 1080@120hz screen but was showing textbook signal problems (flickering and blackouts) when I upgraded to 1440@144hz.

So I ordered this active cable (25'/7m variety) and everything immediately worked perfectly. Running smooth at 2560x1440 @ 144fps. Can't ask for more than that!

15ft works flawlessly for 1080p 144hz.

There is a lot of confusion regarding display port cables and what to select for your purpose. Prior to purchasing, I contacted Star Tech for clarification on a 15ft version of this cable and whether it would work at 1080p at 144hz for a gaming monitor and got this response - "The DISPLPORT15L 15ft DisplayPort cable is certainly compliant with DisplayPort 1.2 HBR2 specifications with bandwidth up to 21.6Gbps. I do not suspect there will be any issues with running the DISPLPORT15L with a 1920x1080 monitor at 144Hz. The bandwidth required will be well below the 21.6Gbps of which the cable is capable. There will be no flicker with a 1920x1080@144Hz display due to the DISPLPORT15L." After receiving the cable, I have found that the cable works flawlessly with no flicker or drop off while gaming at the highest settings. I am very satisfied with this cable for my purposes and if you are looking at similar specs, then I would suggest this cable over the other brands currently available, as this is the only one I could locate after several hours of scanning forums, that is capable of 21.6Gbps.

Great Cable - Not Surprised
Verified Purchase
I work in the IT field, and we buy tons of cables on a fairly regular basis. I often find myself looking for StarTech cables, because we've never had one that was defective, and we've never had any go bad. When I needed a 10 foot DP cable for my home PC, I immediately went to see if StarTech made what I was looking for, and indeed they did. Excellent cable. Excellent price.

NOTE: Be sure to check that the video cable you are planning to purchase supports both the resolution and refresh rate you would like to use. It's an easy mistake to make if you're not careful.

Works with 3440 x 1440 Displays
Verified Purchase
This cable is rated at 10.8 Gbps and a 3440 x 1440 is about 10.6 Gbps. Works great with my LG 34" widescreen.

Use an online data rate calculator and as long as the signal is below 10.8 Gbps, you're good.

Overall the cable quality is good. I bought 3 of these and they're all good.

What you need is good build quality
Verified Purchase
Worked perfectly. It is a digital signal cable so you don't need anything fancy, gold plated, oxygen free, or other gimmicks. What you need is good build quality, the right cable and the right length. Get those things and you'll forget about this cable, much like I did, till you go to review it.

If you remember the cable is there that is because it is a problem. If its a problem, its a problem.

This is the perfect cable I've ever used
Verified Purchase
This is the perfect cable I've ever used. I had 3 different 2k Monitors and always used cables with cames with monitors. So many problems with games, always laggy. Now I'm using VIEWSONIC XG2703-GS 2K monitöor (GSync) After this cable I've no lag problems. Everything is so smooth. I did read something about 20pins - 19pins problems. And for this cable, people wrote it's 19 pins (20. pin is not active) If you need DP cable, this is waht you need.

These work great

I've been using the 6 foot version of this cable for about two weeks without any problems. I'm running a 1080 TI into a Dell P2715Q running 4K at 60 Hz. No flicker. No blurriness. No issues.

Custom Questions & answers

Question:Does this cable have an active power line? (Pin 20) I'm trying to find a 19 pin cable, had a 20 pin and it was causing major issues with my PC
Answer:Looks like only 19 conductors, if that's what you're looking for. Check specs on startech site: https://www.startech.com/m/Cables/Audio-Video/DisplayPort/displayport-cable-10ft-certified~DISPLPORT10L

Question:Will this cable support without any performance issues the asus rog swift 27-inch 144hz g-sync gaming 3d monitor [pg278q] 1440p, 1ms rapid response ?
Answer:Yes. DISPLPORT15L is a DisplayPort 1.2 cable and Asus ROG Switch PG278Q uses a DisplayPort 1.2 connection, so DISPLPORT15L supports the full amount of bandwidth needed.

Question:Will the 10 ft cable support 4K display @ 60 Hz?
Answer:No this 15' cable does not work at 4k@60. This question is under the wrong product

Question:Does this cable actually meet displayport 1.2? StarTech Website says yes, this page no. Anyone get the full bandwidth 21.6Gpbs?
Answer:The VESA website (www.displayport.org) reads that the product (3, 6 and 10 foot) is tested and certified at DP 1.2 specification.

Question:Can the 20ft dp cable support 1440p at 165Hz?
Answer:Unfortunately, no our DISPLPORT20L has a maximum resolution capability of up to 2560x1600 at 60 Hz.

Question:Trying to use the 15ft at 3440 x 1440 but it's limiting to 50hz or 60hz. Even when I reduce the resolution to 1024 x 768 I can only select 50 or 60.
Answer:Look into your monitor and video card specifications to make sure they both support a frame rate higher than 60hz. Also, if you are using an NVIDIA card you should use the NVIDIA Control Panel to adjust video settings. Hope this helps.

Question:I have two monitors (Dell U3417@3440x1440 and Dell 2410@1920x1200) connected using MST. Will this work with a 35’ cable?
Answer:No, DISPLPORT35L supports a maximum resolution up to 1920x1200, and does not support DisplayPort 1.2 / MST.

Question:Can this connect to a active converter to be plugged into my pc. my display has displayport. my pc doesn’t will it work ??
Answer:I haven’t connected this cable to any converter but have no problem with standard DP port. I would assume it would work as the signal coming out of the DP converter is supposed to be standard just as if coming from an embedded DP port.

Question:Currently looking at the 3m variant of the wire. Can anyone confirm that this will run a 1440p 144hz(165hz) monitor with no flicker?
Answer:We typically recommend 3 to 6 foot cables for high refresh rate configurations.

Question:Will the 30ft cable work with a Oculus Rift S?
Answer:No, the DISPLPORT30L supports a maximum resolution and refresh rate of 2560x1600 at 60Hz. The Oculus Rift S requires more bandwidth than DisplayPort can natively support at 30 feet.
