This also powers mic activators.

I am using the PS430 for boosting the signal (without self noise) of piezo transducers on acoustic instruments. This 48 volt supply is powering a Cloudlifter CL-1 Mic Activator to give 25 db of clean gain before a Meridian Pro preamp. In this way, I then route the signal to guitar amplifiers via wireless and mixing board for further processing and amplification. The unit supplies clean reliable power and is rugged in a small form factor. The green led suffices the power on status. I am very happy with signal chain, and there is now little, if any, apparent noise from the pickup device. This can add to it's uses beyond powering only condenser microphones. (Include dynamics and ribbon mics powered by mic activators!)
Thank you, Pyle

Great price for a well-made product.

This is a great product for a single microphone that requires phantom power. It has very clean sound and I use it to attach a basic condenser microphone to my computer so I can use it for online meetings and have far superior sound to the built in microphone on the webcam or on the laptop. Since I have to be on camera a lot, I don't like having a headset on either. It doesn't have an on/off switch, but since it's so inexpensive, I don't mind at all.

Had it for four years. Has worked dependably

I bought this in July, 2016. It has worked for me ever since. For home use the 12v setting has always worked for me. In a professional setting using longer mic cords the 48v setting might be needed. Plan on buying another ne for a friend.

Great phantom power source

Okay, I really don't know much about advanced sound, so I hope that my review is still helpful anyway. I ordered this, because I got a really advanced microphone, and it needed phantom power. I thought that I was taking a risk ordering this, but it ended up being great, and exactly what I needed. One end plugs into the wall, one end plugs into the microphone, and then you plug the other end into your recording device, which in my case was my computer.

My microphone came with a connector to the microphone, so I ended up just needing to get one more cord to plug this into my computer. My microphone says that it takes phantom power between 10V and 48V. So, I tried both the 12V and 48V settings, and they both seemed to do the same thing. I thought that switching back and forth might blow out my microphone, but it didn't.

The only switch or option is the 12V/48V, and it plugs into the wall with a standard two-pronged plug.

Pros:
+Extremely easy to use
+Has a light that shows that it's working
+Economical
+Provides both 12V and 48V phantom power

Cons:
-Only one port
-The only way to stop the power is to unplug it

Clean phantom power at a great price

Don't pay any more. This power supply does the job. I'm using it for my Beringer C-3 Condensor mic. I usually run the mic from a PA, but a group I play with wants to keep things simple at the coffee house we jam in, so we tried running the C-3 through an amp which did not have phantom power. The PS430 worked without adding any noticable buzz or hiss. Vocals were crisp & clear (If not completely in tune!..)

Question & Answer

Question :

do this work wit lexicon alpha

Answer :

As long as this power supply is between the mic and your lexicon it will work. You can't run phantom powe through your mixer though

Question :

I have tried to hook up this contraption to my Karaoke machine, but to no avail..I have cords but nothing. Why?

Answer :

This contraption provides phantom power for microphones to work that need phantom power. You're trying to connect this to a karaoke machine but you didn't say which machine or what type of microphone connections the karaoke machine has. Do you have the correct cables or cords? What type of microphone are you using? Has the microphone been checked with something other than the phantom power supply? When asking a question such as the one you asked, it's best to try process of elimination to see what actually isn't working or what might be or not be happening.

Question :

Would this work with a passive acoustic guitar pickup?

Answer :

I should work just fine

Question :

How do you connect it ?

Answer :

This device supplies power to a device that requires phantom power, such as a condenser mic. This power supply is connected in between the mic and amp/pa. You will need two XLR cables. Once you have the power supply it will be very obvious how to us it (directions are on the case). Good Luck

Will this work with the audio technica at2020 condenser mic?

Answer :

Hi, it works on all condenser microphones. For more info, kindly visit our website pyleaudio.com. Type the model number on the search box PS430. Thank you.

Question :

How do I connect it to a computer?

Answer :

This is not a USB interface. This is a 48v / 48 volt phantom power supply for microphones. A USB interface is what connects to a computer.

Question :

Does this cause interference to Amateur Radio frequencies? I tried one other brand which did.

Answer :

Hi, it won't interfere with radio signals. For more info, kindly visit our website pyleaudio.com. Type the model number on the search box PS430. Thank you.

Question :

What is the maximum rated current at 48 volts? I need 8 mA minimum. (Please don’t answer if you aren’t sure.)

Answer :

This product ha been terrible. I would not recommend it

Question :

How does this work, does it connect to an audio interface?

Answer :

Yes if your interace does not have 48 volt phantom power for a high end condenser microphone. You connect your mic to mic in the 48 volts is sent to the mic.The mic output goes to your mixer or interface in without 48 volts but has the audio from the mic,at mic level NOT line level. Not to be used with dynamic mics that do not need 48volts. Condenser mics have circuitry in them that need this voltage to turn on.Do not connect the mic hot to 48 volts make all the connections and then turn on the unit(or plug it in,and then the mic will take a few seconds to warm up and then you have activatied the mic. Some of the newer pc interfaces have this option. But note this is mic level -70 db only not line level so you still need to preamp in your mixer to bring to line level.

Question :

Do you hook it to blutooth speaker's?

Answer :

No this is used for a condenser microphone(pro mic) to get 48 volts to turn on a mic when a mixr does not have phantom power .It turns on the mic internal circuit nothing to do with speakers etc. This is for a pro microphone.
