Excellent 2-in-1 protection for my Mavic camera
Note: This is a protector for traveling. It is NOT designed to be kept on during flight.
I've had the ribbon break on my gimbal. After months of repairs (waiting), I finally bought the ribbon cable and fixed it myself.
Point being: The gimbal is very fragile. Get a gimbal clamp! Yes, the Mavic comes with a gimbal clamp, if you have the patience to put it on and don't forget to take the clamp off, it's awesome. But it's very annoying, which is why so many pilots just ignore it.
This gimbal clamp is also a camera protector, so it's all you have to put on the camera before and after flying.

Just two nitpicks to an otherwise great accessory
Overall, really just works, with just a nitpick or two:
-I trimmed down the two pillars by about a mm, as they seemed to be a tad too long for the slot
-The release latch is a bit small and may be annoying if you have stubby fingers and/or short fingernails
That's all i got, it's all good from there, and i'm happy to not have to use the original gimbal guard anymore which has been quite an annoyance.
One tip: install while the mavic is on its back, and point the camera slightly down(towards the top of the mavic)

I have never understood DJI. They make great products that are almost cutting edge, but fail in the minor details that frustrate the end buyer to no end.
They create this great Drone, then protect its most valuable parts with flimsy sticks that are easily lost, broken or forgotten. Or maybe it's in the great plan to allow the free market profit from what they fail to do??
Anyway, this SHOULD be one of the FIRST things you buy after you buy the Drone. Protect the camera and makes you remember to put it in the proper position for travel!!
Your camera/Gimble will travel in comfort and security and you will feel better knowing you did not forget to lock it down correctly again. Like I did so many times with the original cover. Plus it does add a little more class to its imposing figure when its just resting on a shelf or on the tailgate!

If you're like me, when you received your mavic, you probably removed the gimbal guard and lock and threw them in the box. You're probably also constantly irritated with the fact that any time you move the drone, the gimbal shakes and slaps into the body, but you can't work up the courage to carry along 2 additional accessories just to fix that problem. That's the problem Aterox was trying to solve, and talk about uncanny timing. As luck would have it - I'm leaving on vacation in just a couple days and was looking for something to lock down the gimbal during transport.
Believe me, there's nothing wrong with the original gimbal guard and lock with the only exception being that they're 2 accessories, one of which is small enough to misplace easily (and who hasn't done that right?). Works better than the original gimbal cover that came with me Mavic Pro Drone. Built into it is this plastic brace that holds the camera secure and in place. The original drone comes with two different parts; the cover, and a plastic brace. This one here consolidates that into 1 part. I love it. It even feels sturdier and built better than the more flimsy original gimbal cover that came with my Mavic Pro, which has broken/chipped twice. I visited their repair center in SoCal in person and they gave me my 2nd gimbal cover, now both are broken. This seems great. :)

I lost the previous gimble lock for my Mavic Pro and needed a replacement. Having this all in one piece makes it easier to keep track of the parts. This cover was less expensive than than buying just the OEM gimble lock, and is a really sturdy device. It is a little harder to put on properly (you have to watch that the lick section engages the slots on the back of the camera) but it is only one piece, and after the first couple of times, it is pretty quick.

I'm actually amaze with it. It's a simple thing really. Put it on and go. I thought at first, well there's a gimbal lock that comes with the drone why should I need another one to keep it in place?
1. It actually takes practice to put the original gimbal lock on and off.
2. It is a lot easier to use this than having to try to align the original lock on the gimbal.
3. it's one less step because you place the cover at the same time you lock the gimbal vs. removing the cover then removing the lock and placing the cover back to the drone.

hi friend, thank you so much for your question, you absolutely do not start up your mavic with this on, it's only to keep the gimbal stable while transporting the drone. BTW, anytime you power on your mavic, the original gimbal lock provided by DJI need to be removed too, or you will get gimbal errors and potentially burn up the gimbal drive motor, hope this helps.

will it work even when you are using filters on the camera?

I have an ND16 on my camera and the cover fits fine. It attaches to the rear of the camera body and the front has plenty of clearance with the filter installed.

no, this is a cover to protect the camera and keep the gimbal in place during transportation. You can simply hold the camera of the drone gently and put the filter on the camera. If you are not reckless you will not hurt the gimbal, just do not power-up the drone until you have the filter in place.

It's NOT designed to be used for flying. And the photo is a little deceptive, it has a slight smoky color to it. You would NEVER want to use this while flying. For flying, use the one that came with the unit. But remember to remove the gimbal lock.
