WOW!!!
Pleasantly surprised....I viewed the moon tonight and was beside myself ...The TALOS at 60x moon was crystal clear all the craters and features I have never seen prior...no aberrations..none...no purple halo... to all the nay sayers ..I say BS....I am gonna take it to the range tomorrow as this is the purpose I ordered it for and I will update.
I took a long time to decide which spotter to buy and almost went with vortex and another over priced euro brand... and I am sure those are very high quality, better be for the prices ,right? However, after reading another user's review which put the TALOS up against two very high end scopes with there being very little difference I had to go with the TALOS and thus far no complaints...so if you want the vortex or Swarovski sticker to put on your truck then buy the sticker and save your money for guns, brass, powder etc.
**Update**
RANGE @ 100 YDS WITH RIMFIRE EVERYTHING IS CRYSTAL CLEAR ...will update soon with 200 and 300yds .

Worth every penny
I have to say I am shocked at how good this spotting scope is. I purchased an Athlon rifle scope a few month ago and have been extremely happy with it so when I decided I wanted a spotting scope I figured they would again exceed my expectations. It is hard to believe that it was so inexpensive. The glass is clear...images are crisp and bright. I'm not trying to say it's equal to a $1000+ spotting scope but I shoot out to 400 yards and have no problem seeing the impacts. If you are looking for a great spotting scope at a very good price then you have found it with this one.

If you're familiar with optics..
You already know what to expect at this price range, but I was pleasantly surprised! I haven't had any issues with blue outline refraction or anything else out of the ordinary. No seriously noticeable fishbowl effect when panning side to side. It does work best at less than full 60x zoom. I can see .17HMR hits at 100yds fine on cardboard targets. It's a little less than perfect, but with a good tripod, and a minute to look carefully, I can see .22-250 hits at 200yds.. At 300yds, I'd be able to see hits on steel, but most likely not .22 hits on cardboard. Just messing around, I can count the bolts on the highest tier of a cellular tower from 1/4 mile. but I can't read grave stones from the same distance. It's a fair optic for the money, but it's also got that wide open, no optic coating, clear glass, kinda cheap view. Trying to focus through tree limbs, there's quite a bit of distortion, and the eye relief is pretty short. The rotating mount sleeve is a nice feature, the sunshade is a little short, but it's effective until the sun gets pretty low. It gets dark, and the image quality suffers after 40x, but I've been turning it up to 60x, and backing it down until I get a satisfactory view. In good light, a person new to scopes in this range should be really happy with it, as long as they don't expect to see the color of a bird's eyes at 500yds and full zoom. The focus knob is just right, not stiff, not too loose. It actually does a nice job. For a budget optic, I rate it a 5/5 for doing what a budget scope does, rather well.

GREAT SCOPE!
I was concerned that the quality of this scope would be low considering the price. That is not the case at all! My dad and I love looking at the deer & other animals on our farm through this scope! The picture quality is very clear and the zoom is impressive.

Works great out to several hundred yards.
For the money you cannot beat it. Unless your shooting paper past 400 yards this makes it easy.

Best buy for the money and a life time warranty.
Very nice spotting scope. Easy to use and crystal clear at all of the settings.
The angled eye piece made viewing in several shooting positions very convenient to use.
The scope stand should be replace for an adjustable tripod.

excellent value
An excellent value. I would easily put this scope up against most other scopes that cost hundreds more and receive better optical performance. I am VERY happy with my purchase.

Decent quality for the price.
I really can't complain about this thing, for what I paid for it. Take care of it, don't drop it or throw it around, and it should last. Optics quality is mediochre, but it gets the job done. The zoom control is very stiff. Not an issue at the range, but out in the field it can be a pain.

I admit, this review is premature as I have not field tested the scope yet as I just got it. But .... the clarity and control are awesome as I'm glassing the far hillside half a mile from my living room window, for one at this price. Very impressed so far - will try to remember and update after the next couple hunts in November.

Question & Answer
Question :
Why is this priced so low, compared to other Athlon spotting scopes with same magnification levels?
Answer :
It’s actually a really decent scope for the money. Its their introduction model in the lower price band.
Question :
what is the 600 + yard detail, and how would it compare to a vortex diamondback?
Answer :
I’ve looked through both and it was hard to tell a difference. Vortex was a little smaller
Question :
Does this include a tripod and soft case?
Answer :
Yes
Question :
Does the eye piece rotate?
Answer :
The eye piece does not rotate, you can rotate the whole scope, it has a ring around the body where it attaches on the tripod with a lock down screw.
Still for the money I have been very pleased with it. My shooting buddy purchased a high dollar scope and this one holds it's own against it.
I would buy another if needed !
Question :
I noticed tow offerings of protection plans. What is the warranty on this product?
Answer :
Athlon offers a lifetime warranty. Dont purchase any protection plan.
Question :
Can you see a 6MM hole in a white paper target at 300 yards?
Answer :
I am able to see the brand of the air conditioner
used on the window 300 yards away.
Question :
Can this item be bought in the Uk if so , where
Answer :
Uk
Question :
Can you see your hits on target at 200 yards with 5.56 ammo?
Answer :
I just used mine last week, for the 1st time, and under the same conditions [.223 & 6.5 Creedmoor] @200'. Yes, but it is questionable if you see it or not. When you walk to the paper, you did see it. Also, in the breeze, the scope may move slightly, which interferes w/ a clear sight. Yes is the answer, but w/conditions, as indicated above.
Question :
What distance can be verified very well, the impact of the bullet?
Answer :
About 100 yards. It's not very good. Spend your money on something a little better
Question :
can this see .223 holes in the black target at 200/300 yards?
Answer :
Yes, very easily.
