An easy way to share, view and enjoy pictures
Like most folks, I have 1000s of photos on my smartphone, iCloud and Google photos. I’m not into printing them up and putting them in albums anymore. However, I was looking for an easy way to view and enjoy photos from my travels.
About 10 years ago, I had one of the first-generation digital picture frames. (You had to be standing in the right light to see the picture. And all the photos had to be uploaded on a USB.) This is so much better! Set up is easy. First off, you download the app and within a minute you can start selecting the photos you want to share with the frame. All the photos are on the Cloud, so there is no space limit.
The frame is a neutral gray color. It’s sturdy and works vertically and horizontally. The picture on the frame is clear and vibrant. To be honest, I don’t know how Aura does it, but the photos from my old iPhone SE look fabulous! As your uploading the app makes a suggested crop, which you can accept or skip. Honestly, my photos never looked better.
Another huge benefit is being able to invite family members to select and share photos with me. I’ve only been using the frame for about a week, but I’ll definitely be buying a few frames for gifts this holiday season. My mom is going to love having more photos of her grand kids!

Super Easy to Set Up and Use
Got this as a gift for my mom. I had such a smooth experience setting it up out of the box and inviting five other people to contribute photos. We set up several pictures, then put it back it the box to gift it to her, so when she plugged it in, it started scrolling through photos right away. She is not the most tech savvy person, but it was so fun and easy for her! Great as a gift or to have for your house. I love that so much about it can be customized and is interactive - you can crop photos to display differently, turn the frame to display in landscape or portrait (display response is immediate), adjust the scroll timing, swipe to flip through the photos faster, or go backwards, etc. Really impressed and pleased with the quality of the product and ease of set up.

The Perfect Gift

Excellent gift idea for
Absolutely love this product. We purchased it for our kids’ grandparents and I swear I have more fun with it than they do! You download a free app to your phone to connect it to your WiFi and then you text/email out an invitation with a code to whomever you want to be able to add photos too. They will have to also download the app and enter the code (which expires if not used soon after the invite but can be re-sent). You can send photos from anywhere to the frame either through the app or just via your photo album on your phone (I choose a photo on my phone, then choose the ‘share’ icon like I normally would but instead of texting it, the aura frame icon pops up to send it to. Much easier than going into the app and doing it that way. The only complaint is it works best if you send one photo at a time.

Treat yourself- it’s an awesome frame
This is my second digital photo frame, a decade since the first. AMAZING
Of course the generational differences would be a given, but Aura has great software packed into flawless hardware. This isn’t a cheap device you’d pick up at Walmart- it’s very sturdy/heavy and has an Apple like packaging feel.
As for loading photos, it’s no different than texting. Select your photos, click done, and they are on their way to the frame.
The auto dimming and motion detection is on point.
My only complaint is the proprietary cord connection. If you have four legged chewers in your family, be-warned. Sigh- suppose a usb-c connection would have been too much

Yes, I shipped one to my mom and was given the code in advance via email to preload pictures without ever having the frame in my possession. Pretty cool.
Question :
What temperatures can this frame handle?
Answer :
I recommend neither baking with the Aura Frame, nor freezing it. I also suggest it be kept out of toaster ovens, microwaves, dishwashers, washing machines, and dryers (even on low heat).
In all seriousness, as an interior-use electronic device, treat it as such. No extreme temperatures (below freezing or above, say, 115°F), keep it out of direct sunlight, and if you think your TV couldn't handle a particular placement, don't put your Aura Frame there either.

Does it have a slideshow option, so that the pictures are constantly changing?

The Aura frame has a slideshow with unlimited storage. You can choose whatever slideshow speed you like, ranging from 15 seconds to 4 hours. Or use our smart timing which takes cues from the environment, using our ambient light sensor to magically change photos at the perfect rate. Aura is truly an ever-changing piece of art that complements your home decor.

The Aura frame auto-rotates your photos to fit your frames position, whether it is landscape or portrait. Our technology works to position the photo so photos will always look their best, and no important people get left out of a family picture! You can also edit photo positioning within the app if you have a certain vision you'd like to create.

I display christmas photos throughout the years as part of my christmas decorations. can i set up the frame to display photos in different albums?
Answer :
You would have to wipe every photo on your aura and then upload only christmas photos.
There is no organization on the aura or ability to have it only show a select number of your uploaded photos.
To call this an oversight would be too generous; this is a deliberate business choice to encourage people not to upload too many photos at once to their servers. In addition, you have no influence over the order the photos are shown, so it's not like you can pick the first Christmas photo you uploaded and have it cycle through all of those.
I am incredibly disappointed by this crippling limitation, and dumbfounded that not a single reviewer I read mentioned or even considered this.

Can the recipient of this frame have to have an Apple product or can just the people sending the picture have the app?

The recipient of the frame needs WiFi. I’m not entirely sure, but as long as someone has the app and email address, that person can act as the “owner “ and invite others to add pictures. The recipient can simply view the pics on the frame. It has a swipe feature where you wave your hand in front of the frame to skip to the next picture. Otherwise it can be set to shuffle throughout the day. It also senses when people are in the room and turns off when there’s nobody around.

Yes, we can confirm that the Mason Luxe does show videos! The maximum length is 30 seconds but if you have longer videos you can crop them in the free Aura app to select the 30 seconds that you want the frame to display. This is available to all iOS app users and we have just released our new Android version this week so that Android users can benefit from this feature too.
