Works better than I would have ever thought, if done right !
This thing gobbles up a lot of light, but if you have a powerful flash you can get great results indoors. In a smaller room(living room size) I use the Dome on a Flashpoint eVOLVE 200 Pro and aim it away from the subject. I usually point it up and to the side but you will have to experiment. It bounces light off the ceiling and the walls and creates soft even light on the subject similarly to a Stofen but better. Don't aim it at a wall that's too close to the subject or you will overexpose that side. In a larger room(about 700 to 1000 sq ft) I use it with a Flashpoint Streaklight 360. I haven't tried it in a very large room yet so I'm not sure what would happen. I suppose you could increase the ISO and do OK.
I do "shoot it quick" wedding photography so I usually have the 200 or 360 set to TTL slave and trigger it with a Flashpoint R2 Pro II. I either set my camera to manual mode or aperture priority. I hand hold the 200 or 360 and keep it away from the front of my camera lens. If there is a wall behind me I point it up and back. I don't know what would happen in a large room with very high ceilings ??

I needed a nice overall well balanced bright soft light with a small footprint for my evolv 200. This couldn't be a better choice
The nice feature about this, is the metal backing that makes it durable but also no lost light bouncing out of the back of this, its reflected to the front. Light weight and constructed well it's a wonderful modifier for the cost. Point this into the ceiling and you have alot of nice soft light filling your foreground. Don't hesitate. Its very affordable and very practical. I use this on my evolv 200 with the extension cord. Its wonderful. Let me see if I can find a sample i shot with it. I did use this modifier for the sample shot but did not bounce it. I pointed the modifier directly at the two on the image.

Two functions for 12 bucks!!
This works well as a diffuser though as mention drops the output significantly. Another equally important application is to take the dome off and use the metal portion only with the bulb/soft box combo. Visually it appears to add at least a half stop of power!!! It’s insane that Godox does not offer a product specific to this task. No problem, I’ll buy two, one using the dome, the other just the plate. I’ll update this with a proper light meter test.
