Excellent value

Nicely designed. Particularly like the snap lock then tighten feature. Much better than typical screw lock. Collar hold lens securely.

Works perfectly

I finally got around to needing to mount the 100-400 on a tripod and this foot worked perfectly. A great cost effective alternative to the overpriced Tamron foot.

Well worth it

Very well made and a perfect fit. A cam system is what holds it in place and works very well.

The name brand accessories are not allways the best

This product was cheaper and better made than the Tamron version. Sorry but I broke my arm 3 days after receiving the ring adapter, so I haven't lifted the lens, camera, or tripod since. I would have written more but it hurts.

Question & Answer

Question :

i have a mefoto tripod will this fit?

Answer :

it has the standard tripod screw mount si should work

Question :

Is there a way to increase the holding ability of this collar? It works fine but it's ever so slightly loose, enough so it rotates unintentionally.

Answer :

Mine sits tight. Just turn the screww to tighten it

Question :

I have a Manfrotto tripod and ball head, will this fit?

Answer :

I own 3 ball head tripods including a Manfrotto, and it fits all.

Question :

Do you leave the collar on the lens when you remove the camera and lens from the tripod? Is it easy to remove the collar from the lens?

Answer :

It's very easy to remove the collar from the lens if you want to, but I prefer to leave it on because it's an easy grip to carry your camera (it's nicely balanced in your hand). I usually just loosen it up a bit and rotate it, so the foot of the collar is pointing upwards, this way I can easily put my camera down and pick it up again.

Question :

What is this made out of?

Answer :

The lens collar is made of aluminum alloy material.

Question :

What is the inside diameter?

Answer :

The inside has a lip which matches the groove in the collar attachment ring on the Tamron 100-400mm lens. The diameter of the lip side is 8mm. The other side of the collar is 8.3mm.

Question :

Answer :

Mine needs occasional tightening. Otherwise no issues. I like mine.
