fabtastic amount of IR light
As the lights on my cameras failed I went with several versions if these IR lights starting with the smaller ones. I now use the 6, 8, or 12 lite versions and cover entire areas several cameras operate in. I look forard to the lights on the camera failing since I no longer need them and, those lights on the camera attracted spiders and other bugs seeking light or warmth in front of the lens. With these lights yards away the bug problem is gone.
And my yard and driveway look like daylight 24/7. Odds are the 6 light units will be good enough for most yards or driveways. I ran into a power supply overheating with several cameras and a 12 light unit all on one 12V feed. Since most of these come with a power supply that was easy to fix. Most DVRs come with one PS to feed about 4 cameras. Watch they do not run above warm if you go above 4 cameras and/or add extra lights.

You can, if you use a 12 volt solar panel, and optimally a charge controller charging a 12 volt battery such as some type of lead-acid battery. You’d have to do a little math to appropriately size the battery, based on the current draw of the light. You would want more than you need, as you probably couldn’t fully charge the battery in one day, especially if it’s a bit overcast.
