Strong Grip, 3" Clamping Surface, NO SMELL
I use these clamps in my studio for clamping backdrops and fabric on metal bars.
I've purchased other metal clips in the past and the rubber tip covers did smell like new car tires for quite some time.
These clips must have a different rubber formula as there is zero scent to them.
They are strong and will hold snug without falling apart like many of the plastic versions have in the past for me. These are best suited for clamping to materials that are 1.5" thick or less.
The flat clip width is 3"
Measurement from leading edge of the clip to back of the handle is: 4 and 3/16" so when they refer to them as 4" Clips, they are talking about front to back, not the width of the clamp pad portion.
The grip pads are well textured and strong enough to hold the fabric on smooth backdrop poles without slipping.
We have magnetic tool holding bars on the wall and unlike plastic clips, these will attach to magnets perfectly so they are handy.
Nicely made, decent black finish, I definitely would recommend these for function and being black so they don't show up in your photography background.
They do open wide enough to clamp onto a 2x4 or ceiling joist.

Good clamps
As others have noted, no serious offensive smell from the "rubber". There is a little bit, but removing the rubber and sending them on a trip through the clothes washer resolves that. Or use them without the rubber at all. The edges are not sharp, so they can be used without the rubber pieces.
The spring strength is good: strong enough to hold, but not so strong that it is difficult to open.
I have used these to clamp/organize cables at the edges of desks and tables. I have also used spring clips to do that. I like these better, the only disadvantage being that the arms on spring clips can be flipped forward, but these can't do that, so it requires leaving a gap at the back of the table from the wall.
I liked these enough to have ordered them a second time.

My wife stole them for quilting
These are great for quickly clamping photo backdrops. I had a couple of them from a set of stands and wanted more. These arrived while my wife was pinning a quilt, and she "borrowed" them while stretching/building the layers as she pinned them. They grip all layers of fabric and the quilting frame and not too strong for her to squeeze.
Now I need more!

I like them. Very versatile
I like them. Very versatile. No odor at all, at least the ones I got.
Much better for heavier use than the plastic ones with the orange tip, which I also have and 2 are broken.
I didn't know these all metal and rubber ones were available when I ordered the plastic ones. Then I got a backdrop stand which included 2 of these clamps. I'm ordering more!

Superbly clippy clips, great for clipping your stuff to other stuff.
These clips are fantastic. They are very clippy. The rubber on the clip parts is great to help protect items you are clipping the clips to. It did take a bit of muscle to initially open the clip as the rubbery parts wanted to stick a bit, but that's no big deal. Word to the weak: if you don't have strong hands, you will struggle to get these clips wide open, they are STRONG.

Very strong grip. Good quality
Very strong grip. I’m using them outside for the last six months and they’ve held up well to weather as well.

Strong clamp, great rubber pads.
Strong clamp, heavy duty rubber pads, although the metal clamp itself is a little cheap, I think they will hold up just fine. They are fantastic for the price and will hold almost everything I need them to...don't hesitate to purchase.

Just the right size and clamp force
These are great. Just the right size for a typical stand, great rubber tips that won't come off or damage your fabric, just the right clamping force, plenty strong to hold anything. And you get a ton of them! I use these all the time and I just love them. Not too big, not too small, just right :)

Question & Answer
Question :
Would these make good nipple clamps?
Answer :
For nipples on steroids! DON'T FORGET THE SAFEWORD IF YOU DO!
Question :
Would these clap onto a door?
Answer :
Yes, I believe that the would.
Question :
Has anyone used clips to make a picture collage?
Answer :
If your pictures are mounted on a heavy backboard then it might work. But these are very heavy duty. You might be better off using something more lightweight.
Question :
Has anyone used these for quilting?
Answer :
I have used these on the bungee cords on my long arm machine . They clamp and hold on very well. The downside is that they are heavier than the plastic clamps usually used. I have also used these to clamp my garbage bags in place in the garbage pails I use in the garage.
Question :
Do you think these can be used to hang a 3 to 4 pound sandbag from boat cover material?
Answer :
Personally, I don't think so. I use much bigger and stronger "Heavy Duty Metal Spring Clamps" for weight.
Question :
Has anyone else had issue with the clamp fitting around your backdrop pole? Ones I just receieved don't close around pole, therefore cant grip fabric
Answer :
Sorry, I’m not sure what your backdrop pole is. My quilt frame uses bungee type cords which I have easily attached these to. They grip wonderfully. For me, the only drawback is that I wish they were a little lighter in weight.
