yellow & red for Kindle and Laptop
I got these purely for the yellow, orange, red filters. I cut them with an exact-o knife (I don't know who ran off with my paper cutter ... ) to fit the screen of my Kindle Paperwhite because at night the PaperWhite turns into a Paper-GREEN! I read my Kindle at night while I am winding down in bed, but it puts on this intense Green-blushish light which the research suggests is the worst for disrupting circadian rhythms and sleep parameters like to time fall asleep, and the restorative quality of sleep. Now my Kindle is 100% perfectly readable at night, no distortion or blurring, and it is a RED light, as far away as I can go on the visible light spectrum from green-blue. Right now I a cutting to fit a yellow or orange filter and attaching velcro strips to the edges to put on my laptop screen at night so I can still get work done, without compromising my sleep. The only thing that you need to know is that these do appear to scratch easily, so be mindful of that. On the upside, at least at the time of my purchase, these are really cheap so worst case if you scratch one up its an easy replacement. Previously I was wearing the UVEX industrial orange glasses at night with my kindle, which also function perfectly well, but I like to read my kindle laying on my side, in which case the glasses dig into my face and negates any enjoyment I have reading. I still use the UVEX for other applications and they are a fantastic product.

Great for Led solar spotlights
Cut out circles for use in solar spotlights . Need to cut 2 pieces for each to get color , that I wanted. Remember to peel off the plastic coating first. I didn’t the first time and they became cloudy after a few days after getting wet from water splashing and watering plants. These are Led lights and don’t get hot in use so I can’t say how they will work for any thing else though. But after cutting 2nd set of circles for lights they work well. And look good at night

These aren't really "Gel-like" mores so thin strong plastic. Won't be good unless placed over a light. Not so much to be be molded, stretched, or anything like that. How this helps

Yes. I use mine outdoors. I cut them in a circular shape and placed them covering my landscaping lights to change the color.

How heat resistant are these colored gels? Anyone use them with halogen bulbs?

Several that I bought had some damage or holes. These crumpled quite a bit under heat, while the others stood up really well to 300 watt arri frenels. They all still work, but I found Lee Quick Location Lighting Gel Filter Pack (24) 10"x12" Sheets to have more variety, and though they are thinner, they held up to heat better for me. I still use both.

Yes, they'll work. Keep in mind that if you're using two light sources you'll double the intensity where they overlap, ie where a red light and a blue light overlap you'll get a brighter lavender light.

if this is gel is it supposed to be melted? i wanted to put it on the eyes of a gas mask but worried it will melt on to the lens.

These gels are a semi-hard plastic, but be warned that if the heat is too hot, just like all plastics, they will melt. I had mine a little too close to the heat from my lights over an extended period of time and mine started to melt. Luckily I caught them as they were starting to melt. Mine are still usable, but they are not flat anymore.

I have no idea but I think LED is not hot so why not try these gels? They are not expensive.

Will not recomend if the lights do get hot.
