Cheap translucent umbrellas!
Not as large as I was expecting, but at the price of 2 for $15, these are great. Normally I use reflective umbrellas, but I recently purchased a battery powered strobes (NEEWER Vision 4) which don't have a plug in option. I wanted to conserve batteries so I went with translucent umbrellas since they use less light than reflective. The light is almost as soft as a softbox, much better than the reflective umbrellas I previously used. The only drawbacks is that you have less control of light bouncing around room. The light is less focused, and will go all over the place. Since I was shooting in a school gym, this wasn't an issue for me.
I found these to be large enough to create soft, flat light for headshots (2 light set up, about 15 degrees apart. I really haven't used these for anything more exciting, but they worked quite well for what I needed at the time. At $15 they're disposable.
They seem like they'll be somewhat robust, but time will tell. They're small enough to fit in my Pelican 1600 case, along with my compact stands and NEEWER Vision 4 lights.

Affordable diffuser for video lights
I needed something for a light setup I intend to leave in a studio I'm working in so I don't need to bring my lights every time to set up. Already had some 500Watt tungsten bulbs in an Impact light fixture, so figured this with an umbrella holder would be good to soften the light, and it does a decent job. Not as fancy or controlled as a softbox, but for the price this is great place to get basic diffusion.

As soon as I opened the product I noticed that they came in a relatively reusable plastic sleeve. When I took the umbrellas out of their sleeve and felt it for the first time it was very durable and almost like the material used on a inexpensive tarp or a projector screen. I mounted them to my light stands and used a 80 watt bulb and noticed that when it reflected off of the surface of the umbrella it was in a cross pattern just like some of my more expensive diffusers which I guess is a testament to how they are made I don't know though. I also torqued down the umbrella screw holster thing on bald head as hard as I could and it didn't make any indention onto the umbrellas arm so it seems like it's okay metal

Good Inside Umbrellas For The Price
LOVE these umbrellas. They are light weight and easy to use, as any person can hopefully work an umbrella! :) They are not super high quality, so don't rough them around too much. I would say for the price they have been one of my best purchases in my introduction to learning photography. There's not much to say but they are great to use to diffuse, or to reflect lights while taking photos inside. I'm not sure if they could handle any kind of wind, or breeze, or even falling over on the ground.

I ordered this during several weeks of rain but of course when I got it the rain stopped and I hadn't been able to use it for months. Till I took a trip and brought it with me since the weather called for rain, and oh boy did it rain. It's kind of small but two people can fit under it although depending on how hard of a downpour it may get your lower legs a bit wet. Otherwise one person under stays pretty much completely dry. Some of the previous reviews said the color bleeds when wet but after three days of heavy downpour It never once bled its color (I ordered the light blue) all in all very good buy

They absolutely work, I use these lights for Indy mogul diy light I made, and they work, they don't come with a bag but if you don't throw away the rubber made holder they come in they can easily be stored, and with no doubt fit into a duffle bag, plus the prize is just right.

Yes, I would think you could. Putting in a stake and attaching the umbrella to it for more height would give you a broader shade area. I am putting mine in potted pots daily and it is keeping my plants from wilting on our hot summer days.

I would say more translucent than reflective. Actually, the word 'reflective' should be used very sparingly. I tried these and the light just passed through them. I could not see a difference in the lighting when I put them in place, and then took them away. Get something better if 'reflective' is what you want.

I have used them many times outdoors; the smaller surface area is less likely to catch the wind and topple the light stand. Position them close to the subject for flatter/softer light.
