Fits my strobe and speedlites perfectly

The bowen mount is so versatile! Opens wide with the adjustable size clamp mouth and can fit my strobe or speedlite easy. The screw down clamp is easy to tighten and loosen and gives a firm hold. The grid softbox is certainly unique. Comes with an extra internal diffuser that's attachable to the corners and screens over the light so I can use it like that or with the grid or both. Great performance.

Sturdy, well built product!

I was nervous about ordering due to the review someone left that the item was cheaply made... but there were so many more 5 star reviews. This item is VERY STURDY and well made. I opted to get this vs. the Godox version because of the price and all the extras that came with it. I was prepared for the quality not to be as good as the Godox brand, but in my opinion, Godox has met its match! The only issue (which isn’t really an issue) is that its very difficult to collapse it back down to the circular state to put it back in the case; however, collapsing it back down to the triangle state works for me, as far as storage and ease of transport. Product used with the YN 568EX II.

Not actually that hard to fold...

There are a lot of reviews that make it seem like this thing is impossible to get back into the circular carrying case. It does take a bit of force, but it's doable. When you collapse the softbox into its triangular shape, grab it by the corner above the word "Neweer" and at the center of the long side opposite of where you're grabbing the corner. Then, twist in opposite directions. That's it. No magic tricks. Just got mine in the mail today, so if it wears out over time or if I have any other issues, I will update this review. For now, exactly what I needed for backpack portraiture while I travel.

Works great, great price

I bought this softbox for a specific portrait shoot I had coming up, The size is perfect for head-and-shoulders portraits, though probably not large enough to work too well for full-body photos. The construction is good and seems pretty sturdy. I assume the little details of fit-and-finish are a bit better on the much more expensive lightboxes, but this works fine. I especially like the mounting bracket/ring. The clamp fits and holds the strobe quite firmly and safely, and is adjustable for various sizes of strobe. I also like the fact that the ring is a standard Bowens type, so I will be able to add other accessories as needed. I haven't used the grid, but it seems like it should be fine.
I didn't have all that much trouble setting it up or breaking it down. Setup is actually very easy; the hard part, as numerous people have mentioned, is getting the softbox correctly twisted back into shape to get it back in its case.It takes some muscle and finesse, but it's totally do-able. Probably helps if you have already had some experience with re-folding flex-fills and the like. Basically when you hold and twist two points of the triangle the other point has to twist inward and fit in between the two you are holding in order to get it back to the round shape. If I get a chance I'll do a video, because that shouldn't be what keeps anyone from buying an otherwise really good piece of kit.

Nice, inexpensive softbox for my speedlights.

Time will tell how well this softbox holds up, but for the price and what it does, I'm happy with it. I just received it today and set it up. Unfolding was easy, but folding back up was a bit of a learning curve. You basically have to twist the heck out of it as you fold it back up. It feels like you're going to damage the supports inside, but it's a lot like collapsible reflectors (but more twisting). I chose not to use the small interior diffuser (to soften any "hotspots") because I need all of the light I can get from my speedlight. The diffuser isn't really necessary as the outer, larger diffuser works just fine. I'm getting an f/8 setting at iso 100 from about five feet away. This works well for outside, full-sun fill flash. This softbox is a great bargain. I will report back in the future if I have any issues with it.

Quality Softbox

This is the only softbox I have ever owned so I can't make any comparisons to other product but I am very happy with this purchase. It works exactly like I expected. Pop it open, attach the diffusers and grid (if needed), insert the Bowens Mount into the back, mount it on a light stand and secure your flash in the bracket and you are ready to go. I do agree with everyone that it would be very hard to get back into the small pouch it came in. I knew this in advance and I am fine with leaving the softbox folded flat in half. Overall the product is very good quality, very sturdy and will do everything I need it to. Would recommend to anyone that doesn't have to get it twisted back into the storage pouch.

A perfect replacement for my old homemade softbox!

I purchased a pair of these to replace a softbox that I made years ago, I wanted something that was easy to break down and could be stored without taking up too much space. These worked great, they're easy to set up, and not too difficult to break down once you've practiced a bit. We'll see how long they last, but I'm very happy with them for now!

Neewer 24x24 inches Bowens Mount Softbox

Neewer 24x24 inches Bowens Mount Softbox
This works great. Very easy to use and to set up.
Note: for those who have never used one of these soft boxes before there are four flaps on the back and you just put the S bracket flange under the four flaps. You do not try to put the S bracket in the softbox circle. Just put the S bracket flange underneath the four small flaps in the back of the softbox. Also, I recommend when not using the softbox, don't worry about trying to fold this back into the bag if you are having trouble. Instead, just store as a triangle. It's still small enough and this product works great.

Lays flat for storage which might not suit some ppl

Delivery was better than promised.
Both Bowens mount and the diffuser's quality seems high. Looks like they will last years.
At first I was freaking out because I couldn't figure out how to attach the two together but then realized that you merely need to push the diffuser onto the mount. Brilliant. And it seems solid.
The only problem for some people will be folding in back to the way it was shipped. It's impossible so don't even try it. It lays flat for storage and I'm okay with it. Consider the small round bag it came in as a part of packaging never to be used again, at least not for this softbox.
Haven't seen it in action yet but looking forward to it. If it turns out worse than I expected I'll come back and adjust this review. If I don't, then all is well.

Question & Answer

Question :

Is there an umbrella hole in the mount?

Answer :

Yes. You can actually see it in the photo if you look closely on the bottom of the ring. That mount is also sold separately and can be used for an umbrella as well as mounting a softbox. That little knob toward the back secures the umbrella.

Question :

Can this support a yongnuo yn 560 ii flash?

Answer :

It should support it just fine. I have a Canon 430EXII which I believe is similar in size to the Yongnuo 560 and it is well supported by the Neewer Flash Bracket. Both the bracket and the softbox are well constructed and I've been very pleased with the purchase.

Question :

Does work with godox ad200

Answer :

Yes, it should work fine.

Question :

Is a smaller flash like the sb600 poweful enough for this?

Answer :

It depends on how you’re using the light and modifier. If it is for portraits and you are relatively close to your subject, say 8’ or less, it should be perfect.

Question :

Does this work for canon speedlite el-1?

Answer :

I use Yong Nuo 968 EX-XRT Speed Light which is similar to Canon's Speed Light. The Bowen Mount works well with my speed light and I am quite sure it would with the canon.

Question :

Will this work with a neewer 670

Answer :

Yes,

Question :

can this support a godox v860ii?

Answer :

Yes!! I use a Godox v860ii in this softbox unit, and works well with no issues.

Question :

can the softbox be tilted

Answer :

Yes up and down

Question :

Anyone who got this wish they spent half on the octagon softbox? Can't decide if this is more worth it.

Answer :

For the money this is well worth it. It comes with a grid. You can use a flash AND a strobe with bowens mount. Its not the easiest softbox to set up, but would buy again.
If your question is comparing the light you get from a softbox to an octabox. That is different. That is personal preference and can depend on the situation you use the light modifier. And its not just softbox or an octabox... It will depend on their size. If you are confused I would recommend you rent some equipment and test it out before making a purchase... This might help you in building your understanding of light shaping tools.

Question :

Can i use a profoto a1x speedlight with this unit

Answer :

It might work but I wouldn't recommend trying. Speedlite mount is made for
speedlite w a square head, and the A1X is an expensive unit to try mounting it
to a system it's not made for. But if you must try, you would may have to tape some plastic or cardboard around the head of the a1x.
