Makes a huge difference!
I took these photos with bad lighting, bad makeup, and no makeup; the images without a reflector are on the left, and the images using the reflectors are on the right. These reflectors helped improve the lighting and quality on each image despite the conditions. Great tool to have and at a price that is hard to beat
A reflector is a fantastic tool to have at your disposal. It really solves some vexing lighting issues in what would otherwise be difficult lighting situations. I use a reflector most often outside and it so useful. You can spend a lot of money on reflector screens but this Neewer 32" reflector screen is such an outright bargain, it's hard to resist.
This screen comes with a zippered nylon carry case. The zipper should not be man-handled and works just fine. If you're in a hurry and you start zipping with a lot of force, it may jam up on you or the nylon of the case may get caught in the zipper teeth while zipping. Just slow down and be gentle... it works just fine.
The screen basically deploys itself with a spring-like action and once it has unfolded itself you are presented with a 32" diameter disc that is black on one side and silver on the other. A zipper goes halfway around the outer circumference of black/silver material and when unzipped reveals a gold surface on one side and a white surface on the other. The translucent material comprises the core of the reflector and it is around the translucent core that you zip the outer cover around once you've chosen which color surface you wish to use.
The only issue is the material is quite wrinkled. The wrinkles will diminish womewhat once the reflector is fully expanded but never quite go away completely. It's not a big issue though because the wrinkled appearance of the reflector surface does not significantly affect the light reflected from the surface to your subject.
This is such a great value that even the most budget minded photography can now easily afford this great tool. And once you begin using it you will wish you had had one years ago.

An extremely useful tool for any photographer
A reflector is an essential tool for any photographer who takes portraits, especially outdoor ones. The beauty of outdoor portraits is to use the perfect lighting of the sun, but a reflector allows this to be done to a much larger degree. With a white, silver, and gold reflector, the options are open for different looks and various levels of refelction.
For instance, in the portraits with the woman in the white and blue dress, I used the silver refelctive side to give a bright, contrasted studio lighting look. One of the more underrated features of the reflector is the "naked layer" that is a light diffuser for a softer light look in direct sunlight. During an afternoon graduate photoshoot pictured here, I used the diffuser to make the light much softer, as if it was a nice overcast day.
One time, for a professional headshot/ ID badge photo, I even used the white and gold side to make a simple blank background and it worked quite nicely.
I own two of these because they are incredibly useful and I take it on every photoshoot, or leave one in my car at all times in case I forget.

Very Clever Design and Sturdy
I’ve owned a lot of reflectors, some of the very pricey ones, and this is by far the best and most clever one. It gives you five options - four different colored reflector surfaces in a reversable jacket, that can be zipped around a transluscent core, or left off. The core can be used wthout the jacket as a nice-size diffuser. It’s not the same as having four reflectors but I can’t remember ever needing more than one round reflector at a time. The reflector jacket looks well made. The failure point will eventually be the lightweight zipper, but if and when that happens, I imagine I will have gotten plenty of use out of this reflector, one priced so low I won’t worry a lot about it.

This is NOT a package of four reflectors. Just know that there is one metal hoop, and one reflector that zips over the hoop. This reflector has silver on one side, and black on the other. Take the reflector off the hoop and turn it inside out, and it now has a white side, and the other is gold.

Exactly what it says it does
For the price it cannot be beat. It is a very simple concept you take it out of the package, you un fold it (if you ever had one of those child play houses or cat houses that you have to fold inward and then they "set") and it pops out!
The middle is a diffusion screen (white on both sides) then there is the fabric cover with a gold / black side and a white/ silver side.
The only gripe about the product is I wish it came with some sort of mounting solution other than just clamping it to a light stand or buying an adapter for it. I am debating fashioning something to attach to it so it is easier to attach to a tripod or light stand.
Be careful when re-closing it as you need to gently run the zipper up and make sure it is set right so you dont tear the zipper.

Reflectors
I've been using foam boards with foil glued on and white boards for reflectors for the last few years and had great success with them. But when I saw these I had to get two. The only problem I had was learning how to fold them up to put back into the storage bag 43" 110CM 5 in 1 Round Portable Collapsible Multi Disc Light Photographic Lighting Reflector for Studio or any Photography Situation (Translucent, Silver, Gold, White, and Black) . But with the help of the internet, I found a video that showed the tricks. And after that no problem. The reflectors are light weight and easy to move around and one clip and you can hang them on light poles with out any problems. I'll probably get another set in probably square or triangle design. Well worth the price. I would recommend these in a heart beat. They are great.

How big is it when folded up?

Around 12 inches or so. Small enough to fit inside the average backpack. It's flexible and won't take up a lot of space. I had to watch a few youtube videos to learn how to fold it up, haha. Even with my arthritis I can do it with little trouble. Hope this helps. It's very well made despite some reviewers stating otherwise. There are more expensive ones but I really can't see spending more money when this one is very good quality.

It comes with one interchangeable piece with a gold, silver, black and white side. This piece goes over a diffuser which is also white but not as reflective as the white side of the interchangeable cover. Hope that helps.

It should not make noise. The ring around the scrim is flexible metal that should be connected always. (A "scrim" is a translucent defuser.) This 5-in-1 product is really only made of two pieces: the wired scrim and the 4-sided reflector bag. The wired scrim, when used alone, defuses and softens light. The reflector bag is 2-sided and reversible, hence 4-sided: white, black, silver, and gold. The reflector bag requires the wired scrim for support. The metal ring inside the wired scrim must be continuous. If it's broken and makes noise, it is defective and should be returned or replaced.

Yes, I've held it in one had while shooting and it works fine. You could also just set you camera on your trip and auto shoot and move the reflector around.
