Awesome filter with virtually no color cast.
So instead of trying to coax my images back from way too many points magenta, I decided to give the Firecrest 10-stop a try. Holy ****. What have I been missing? Of course, as soon as you get serious about light stopping (6+ stops) you're going to get a little color shift. Now it's down to manufacturers to trim that down to next to nothing. Firecrest seems to do this the best I've tried, with perhaps 1/2 point magenta... off a 10-stop! Definitely the best "Big Stopper" I've bought to date.

Adds additional flexibility
Nice addition to my ND filter collection. This is a 6 stop ND filter providing a nice option when I need to be able to extend exposure time. When you want to soften clouds or water beyond what a 3 stop filter can offer, this is a good choice. My filter holder only accommodates two external filters and this option allows me the capacity to marry this filter with a 3 stop filter to achieve 9 stops of light reduction.

I use this with a NiSi V5 filter holder and it works great. Anyone looking at a ND filter would be familiar with what they can do for you. This filter does not disappoint. Recently, I shot a waterfall in the early afternoon and achieved a shutter speed around 40 seconds. Additionally, I shot a night cityscape and the exposure time was around two and a half minutes. I can't detect any color shift due to the use of the filter.

I could not have asked for a better long exposure tool
I bought this filter about a month ago along with the holder and several adapter rings. The pictures I was able to take thanks to the 16 stops of light reduction were just stunning. I could not have asked for a better long exposure tool! There was no color cast and the overall effect was completely even across the frame. The filter is just great and I would recommend it over other products like the Lee "Big Stopper".
I assume that the light sealing gasket is left to the buyer to apply because they think that some people would prefer the filter without it. It was a pain to apply, and I almost screwed it up.
Overall, I'm very happy with the results this product allowed me achieve.

Zero color cast.
When they say no color cast, they mean no color cast. What more can you ask for? Used on a Fuji XT-1 and Nikon D750.

Lets me take amazing video with shallow depth on a sunny day
Lets me take amazing video with shallow depth on a sunny day. I have Rokinon T1.5's + a Metabones Speedbooster, so an ND system is crucial to even go outside. I use it with the Formatt-Hitech modular holder.

Stronger than expected.
It works very well, very neutral. However, it is very very strong! This 10 stop version is more like a 16 stop version, possibly more. Outside on a sunny day on my zeiss 21mm i went from f22 to f2.8 using this filter, and it was still a little under exposed. I returned it to get the 6 stop version.

Question & Answer
Question :
Do I really need to glue the gasket from this filter? is this fake?
Answer :
No you do not and I did not glue the rubber to the filter. I did not see any light leaking, even with my traditional 4x4 holder. If you are afraid of leaking, buy format hitch Lucroit
Question :
I just received my filter but it comes with no foam gasket but two foam stripes. it also comes with no pouch, just a plastic box. is this ok?
Answer :
When I received mine it came with a square gasket. You might want to contact Formatt-Hitech and see if they changed the gaskets. Mine came in a plastic box with foam padding on the inside.
Question :
Is this glass or resin?
Answer :
Appears to be resin on glass if that makes sense. Dark as advertised can't see through it indoors will need to wait for a sunny day to try it out.
Question :
Will this fit on a 77 mm ring lens -(Canon 24-105) F4?
Answer :
Hello. To integrate this filter into use with any lens you will need two things - an adapter ring and a holder system. As your Canon 24-105mm f4 has 77mm front filter threads you would need a 77mm adapter to attach the holder system (Formatt Hitech Aluminum / Formatt Hitech Firecrest / Lee / Others) to the lens.

Question :
Is this 2mm thickness or 4mm?
Answer :
It isn't a standard 2mm thickness and fits most standard sized ND filter holders.
