So easy to use.

This product is insane. The images I’m able to capture and the built in OS are upping my photography game to the next level. I have only spent three days with it but have captured some amazing shots which I will include some. The only issue I have with it is it’s heavy, really heavy. But it’s worth it for the images you get. I could not recommend this product enough.

Very Impressive!

I just got this yesterday as a Christmas present. It is larger than I expected, but that's fine. I didn't get it to get snapshots. This lens is very solid and well-made. I've had almost no time to familiarize myself with this, but it seems to work well in low light situations. I have this attached to a Canon EOS 5DS, a 50 Mpixel camera. With the reach of this lens, I hope to be able to capture some very detailed images in nature. I got this bundle because it had filters. While not the best filters in the world, they and the rest of the package could have had much cheaper components. At least this way, I can got out and try it out and get better filters at my leisure. Focus Camera has put together a nice package around this lens.

UPDATE:
After practicing a bit and finding that at 600mm it's really important to lock up the mirror to prevent shake, I found the UV filter to be a bit lacking. It is really important to make sure you put the best quality filter on this lens. The first image is with no filter and the second is with the filter in this kit. The third is the original image at 600mm without filter for a baseline. If you're interested in good detail, get the best filter you can. Don't go woithout one.

A very impressive telephoto zoom lens with a good pricetag

This lens is better suited for exterior photography like bird photos or wild animals,it is very good if you use it with a good amount of light. For the price it’s a very capable lens but be advised if you use this in conjunction with a Tele converter 1.4X or worst a 2X it is going to became so poor illuminated, In my experience it’s a good idea not to use a UV filter only if you have one of very good quality but it’s going to cost you about $100 never use the Polaroid cheap ones or something like that they only thing that you’re going to do is deteriorate the picture quality of the lens. It’s a good idea to remember that this is not a sealed lens so you have to protect it from rain and dust and heat and all the elements.

Pretty Impressed

I got this lens to replace my 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS. I don't know if I got a bad copy or it needed to be calibrated but I was never able to get a tack sharp image with it, not to mention I wanted a bit more reach without needing a TC. I'm using it on a Canon 5DS. Just got it today and took a few test shots. I was surprised at how sharp this lens is, even handholding at 600mm. I will say, it's heavy so I won't be handholding it all day long. The flower photo is a 100% crop at 600mm ISO400 1/1500 f/5.6. The dog photo is at 244mm ISO400 1/350 f/5.6. Until I can afford a 500mm prime, this will do just fine!

The site was very informative before I bought from them!

I bought a auto focus 150 -600mm zoom lens. I have been trying it out on my tripod. So far I like it a lot. Came with some accessories that are useful for me. I am a casual photographer and I am not disappointed.
I would recommend this item.

Great lens

I am VERY pleased with this lens. My camera is a Canon T4i, and I took the lens to the zoo for its first trial. The image stabilization works very well even for handheld shots made at 600mm, (960mm equivalent with a crop sensor like mine) I did use a monopod for some of these shots. The only drawbacks are the weight (over 4 pounds) and the zoom ring that rolls in the opposite direction of most, and is stiff in turning. The positives far outweigh the negatives and I highly recommend this lens.

Great lens for the price

Great solution for this focal range. Solidly built though a little heavy. Have used both handheld and on a monopod with good results. Monopod included in the package worked fine. I am using the Vivitar UV filter and it appears not to affect sharpness of the lens. Camera bag included in the package is nice but too small to really be used with this lens. Would highly recommend this lens.

Great lens. Fantastic value

After comparing many lenses, we decided to go for the Sigma 150-600 because of its price and most importantly because it was smaller and lighter than the other lenses we were comparing to. However, we were a little concerned about the image quality. Happy to report that after testing it, we are extremely happy with the results. The zooming capability is fantastic and the image quality is very good. Highly recommended for wildlife photography.

Great deal for what you get

Many places sell the lens only for this price. This comes with several items that I need. The usb dock is a must with this lens anyway. The autofocus is slightly slower than my ultrafast 300mm from canon. But will do fine in wildlife photography. I've used it for 2 weeks now and love it.

Sharp lens, great value

Still playing with the lens. The first test shots were impressive. Auto focus was dead on though perhaps a tad slower than my 70-200L. The test shots appear to be as sharp as a Canon 100-400L. Its not a particularly fast lens so you will need a lot of light. I bought the lens to use on a Canon 7Dii and a M50 (with EF to M adapter). It works well with both.

This lens is heavy. A tripot/monopod helps with shake and fatigue.

Question & Answer

Question :

Can i use this lens with canon eos r?

Answer :

Not directly. You have to have a Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R. They cost about $100 new on the Canon website , but refurbished/used options are available at Canon and other major photography stores.

Question :

Is the weight of this item really one pound ??? I don't think so...

Answer :

According to a search on Google the 150 - 600 mm sigma weighs 4.25 pounds.

Question :

Is it compatible with the Canon 80 D?

Answer :

Yes

Question :

Does this work on a d3500?

Answer :

If you're asking about a NIKON D3500, then you'd have to check to see if your Nikon DSLR takes the standard Nikon mount, not a newer mount Nikon might be using on mirrorless cameras . The version shown in the question I received shows the Canon mount.

Question :

Will this lens work with the canon sl-1?

Answer :

Unsure about if the lens works with canon sl-1. I use 80d (aps-c) and eor r through ef-eos r mount adapter. Both cameras work well

Question :

Is this compatible with canon eos 1200d?

Answer :

Only if is Apsc format not full frame!

Question :

Has anyone used this lens with nikon d3200? if so how did it work out? picture quality great, good, bad or just ok?

Answer :

Not a fan of Nikon so can't tell you.

Question :

is this a full frame lens?

Answer :

This is a full frame lens and will work with full frame and cropped frame Canon cameras

Question :

Fit 7d mark ii oes ? does it need an adapter?

Answer :

It fits all Canon EOS DSLR bodies (not the new Mirrorless ones) without an adapter. The 7D Mark II will work fine with it, I use it with my 6D and my 80D. There will probably be a slight delay in the auto focusing because it's not a Canon lens. This is common with Sigma and Tamron lenses, but the pictures are great.

Question :

Will this need to be calibrated to use with a Canon camera?

Answer :

Mine did not. It is a heavy lens but takes awesome photos. You probably won’t get super sharp photos at the 600 max unless the frame is filled. I took some wolf shots at about 1/2 a mile away from a tripod and they weren’t too bad. It’s a good lens I’d buy again. I use it on a Canon 90D
