I don't know if it would fit in the Canon battery charger, but I don't know why you would connect a power supply to a battery charger. Without knowing more, I suspect it would burn out the charger or catch fire. The Canon battery charger is not an AC adapter. From Canon's website: "The Canon DR-400 Coupler used in conjunction with a compatible AC adapter (not included) allows you to power your Canon 5D, 50D, 40D, 30D, 20D, 10D, D60, D30 and Digital Rebel directly from an AC Power source. Powers directly from an electrical outlet; requires CA-PS400." This Canon BP-511 charger does not have a plugin for the DC Coupler DR-400. The Canon Compact Power Adapter CA-PS400 is a battery charger that appears to have the plugin for the DC Coupler.

If you have an e6 battery, you need a different charger. The first Canon 5D used the 511A battery, but you must have the Mark II or Mark III version of the 5D which may use the LP-E6 battery. Go to CanonUSA.com click support and they have all of the camera manuals online with the list of supplies and accessories for all of their cameras. (https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support?tab=manuals ) I use the Canon 7D and it uses the LP E6 battery. I have to use a different charger for it than for my old 20D which can use this charger.. LP E6 batteries need the LC E6 or LC E6E charger. If you have a Canon BP-511A battery, you can use this charger. The original Canon charger that matches this was gray with red numbers. The original E6 chargers that are for more expensive Canons are black.
