A good microscope for the money
This is not at all like my $5000 Olympus dual head microscope that I use in my work as a pathologist and I would not expect it to be. For the money, it is a decent teaching microscope. The objectives and ocular lenses are of good enough quality so that what is seen through the scope is decent with good resolution with the 40x objective. I did not try the oil immersion. The condenser is not bad, with little to no artifact at the edges or tissue refraction artifact. The light through the condenser is slightly off center, with no way to adjust this as far as I can tell. The light is ok, would be nice if it were a bit brighter. Would I use this for patient diagnosis? No. But it is more than adequate for students or basic microscopic work.

My Wife Loves It
We use this product simply for entertainment and exploration of water, blood, and other types of slides. Outstanding Microscope for the money. Perhaps a little more professional than we need, but what the heck, you only live once.

Works great and good customer care !
I was excited when this microscope arrived. But unfortunately when I opened it and plug it in the light never turn on. So disappointed.
Update : The company contacted me and kindly sent me a new one, the light works fine, yay! Now that I tried it I could say that this is a good quality microscope , easy to use , with clear and wide lens that are easy to focus. I really like it and can’t wait to look at more things and explore. I attached some photos I took using the microscope.

Good for home use and science education
I purchased this microscope to do basic science education in a home setting, so I didn't need anything too powerful. For the price, this was a great option for my family.

Very Good 'Scope' at This Price Point
At a little over $200 this is a gem. Solidly made with lots bells and whistles like adjustable brightness, 360 degree rotating head, 2 sets of eyepieces (10x/25x), parfocal objectives (mostly) etc. It even comes with a couple of polarizing disks you can put over the eyepieces to make a poor man's polarizing microscope. My only niggle is the aperture adjustment for the light is a little flimsy and of limited range. I did not try the oil immersion lens. I'll just add it's amazing how often you can get a good idea of the quality of the product by how carefully it's wrapped. It's perfect for the high-school biology student. My grand-daughter loves it.

Excellent for the Price
I bought this for canine estrus cytology, and semen analysis, and my Swift did not disappoint. Image quality is superb and I couldn't ask for anything better for the price point. I just ordered a camera eyepiece and look forward to many years of use in the future.

Look no further for educational or scientific purposes from junior high to advanced research
The microscope kicks ass. There is nothing not to like about it. However, it does not come with slides, cover slips, or lens cleaner.

Decent binocular microscope for the money
Solid construction with a movable stage in both x and y axis means no quirky fidgeting with the specimen slide to change the view. 4 objective lens and 2 sets of eyepieces give you a nice selection of magnification. The only thing missing in my mind is overhead illumination, very difficult to use for surface observation of opaque specimens.

Question :
What is the main difference between the sw350 and the sw380?
Answer :
The optics seem to be identical. All other mechanics also seem to be identical, except the coaxial focusing knob. The coarse and fine focusing knobs of SW350 are coupled: When you turn the coarse knob, the fine knob turns very fast. On the other hand, those of SW380 are not coupled: Two focusing knobs move independently, a more complex focusing knob mechanism.

Question :
Can this machine detect viruses?
Answer :
It can detect viral changes within a cell, but not the actual virus itself. Not all viruses make light microscopic detectable changes within the cell. Some that do, include CMV (cytomegalovirus) and HSV (herpes simplex virus). The changes these viruses make are most usually seen in epithelial cells. At this time, there are no known light microscopic detectable cell changes that coronavirus or influenza virus makes, for example.
