Question: | I am looking for a s video cable for my old sony dvr trv 460 camcorder that can transmit both video and audio to my tv. can anyone assist? |
Answer: | I don't think this will work. The Sony's have a special port on the camera for AV out. See if the port on your camera matches this cable from amazon.

Question: | I bought an s-video cable from another Amazon seller and it didn't fit into my cable box.Does anyone have a reason as I thought they were all 1size? |
Answer: | For those who may be reading in the future...
There are s-video-like cables intended for satellite receiver boxes that isn't the typical 4-pin DIN connector cables commonly referred to as "s-video" cables. It is likely the o.p. picked up one of those cables or the "cable box" is a satellite receiver box with a different DIN connector.

Question: | How do I watch a dvd on a dedicated.non-cable box tv? |
Answer: | I'm going to assume the TV you have has a panel with “video/audio” input jacks on back as well cable(even though you don’t have cable h/p AND vhf(external antenna)inputs. That being the case you will need to look at your DVD manual and find the correct setup showing how to connect the video and audio cables from the DVD player to the input jacks on tv. Basically you’re using the TV as a viewing monitor. On mine I have a red and a white audio cable from the player that I plug into the L and R audio input jacks on panel on back of tv and a video cable that I plug into the video jack on the same panel. Your tV manual should tell you how to switch inputs from “tv” to “dvd” mode in order to play the DVD player. Hope this helps
