This is a great phone mount! I’ve been searching for a decent one for a LONG time (RAM makes the phone holder for the center console, but every time you remove the phone the holder comes with it). This mounts using the factory screw holes on the console (screws are provided with the device - factory screws heads are too large). No modifications required!
The location is perfect and if adjusted properly is not in your field of view. You can still use the phone for a GPS device (as well as anything else) and you don’t have to take your eyes off the road to glance at the map.
The price is a little steep for such a small widget, hence the three stars.

There is no suction power as that is not the design or intent of this.
It does however bolt down onto the dash and is very sturdy. I added this to a 2014 Ram 1500. It goes right into a spot that is not that useful for much anyway so you’re not giving up a cup holder, or window or vent space.
I tried an expensive suction cup type from AutoZone and ended up returning it.
Those types will all eventually fall off. This one will not fall off. I’m using it on an IPhone SE2 which is the same size as an iPhone 7 and 6. I don’t know much about android phones, but i’m 99% sure it will hold any iPhone. It springs open and closed, and you can put it in sideways position if you want. You can charge the phone while it’s in there. I’m very happy with this device. It’s very adjustable, and does not rattle and shake around. I highly recommend if you have a Dodge Ram with the space for this to screw down to.

The right side is moved to the right as you fit in the phone. I have a XS-Max. Fits no problem and is snug. Only issue I have is the rubber pad on the right side doesn’t want to stay in place. I have to reposition it maybe once a week. Minor issue really.
I really like this mount and would recommend it based on my usage. Very sturdy.
