Another Outstanding Call Blocker By Digitone

Improved on the ProSeries I with the new user interface and virtually unlimited blocking. Bright backlit screen, one of the few (perhaps the only) blockers that allow blocking after hours on weekends and weekdays with user-defined times, allows remote blocking from remote headsets, name blocking to foil telemarketers that change numbers, automatic OPX blocking, blocking whole area codes (for overseas spammers), real first-ring suppression, works with and enhances Nomorobo call service, and user-configurable to change just about every option. It does require studying the User Manual, and the number of codes can be daunting, but there is no call blocker in my opinion that is as configurable or effective as this one.

A long time user of Digitone, and having tested about a dozen others, I would rate this as the top unit available today for suppressing and stopping the never-ending flood of unwanted callers and telemarketers. Highly recommended.

Replaced my CPR call blocker

I have used a CPR call blocker for several years and it generally worked well; however, I began to receive 2-4 "Unavailable" calls each day and could only block the number with the CPR call blocker. My new Digitone ProSeries II blocks names as well as numbers. I simply blocked the name "Unavailable" when I received the call and no more of these type of calls have rang through. A few days ago I received an "Invalid Number" ID and was able to block it too. I am very pleased with this unit and would definitely purchase it again.

Works great; annoying callers conquered!

This item has eliminated about 95% of the telemarketing, political, and scam calls that I had been receiving on a daily basis. The calls that aren't initially screened out can be eliminated from future contact with the push of a button. This call blocker has features that can be programmed for just about any telephone setup, and the user manual (full version) is only accessible by downloading it. There are so many features that it can become confusing trying to learn them all, but a "quick setup guide" is included. The basic setup is simple, and the default settings are all that the average residential user will need to get this thing up and running. I am very happy with this purchase.

Still great!

I've been using a Digitone call blocker for about 7 years. I love them. They are not trival to program, but not bad if you actually read the instructions. I upgraded to the latest model to help defeat some of the more advanced telemarkers. So far, it has lived up to my expections.

The perfect phone blocker.

This Digitone ProSeries II phone blocker was the best buy I made several years. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 people were using different ways to try to earn some money. Of course the best way was through the phone.

I own a wireless home connect phone which does not have any robocall protection, so my phone rang almost every 5-10 minutes. I was completely frustrated not knowing how to stop this nonsense.

Finally I searched the web and I came across this call blocker. There were not very much reviews but almost all were positive. I decided to give it a try and wow! not a single call of those nudniks went trough. When my phone is now ringing I know for sure that the other party is from my family or friends. This phone blocker is doing a great reliable job. Thank You for coming out with such a fine product.

DOES THE JOB!!

After MONTHS and MONTHS of non-stop calls with our local area code, even some with a hi-jacked name added to it, plus APPLE calls when you don't own an Apple Anything, WARRANTY calls for a car that's 10 years old... etc... I had enough and purchased this Call Blocker. Quite frankly, after reading the other reviews, I set it up and didn't even need to read the instructions and the blocker started working immediately.

In MY case, no matter what, I get ONE RING for each call coming in and when I have time, will check it and scan any other calls and BLOCK any others that I don't want. Some calls that have SOME NAME will ring the 4 times and I have to BLOCK them after, AND I had blocked a call early one evening and at 11:29pm that night, I saw the screen was lite up and thought that was odd. The blocker had blocked the call without a ring, the call I had blocked earlier in the evening!!

The only thing that gets me and I've done no real research into it, is that I get this same call from the same number 3-4 times a day and BLOCK it EVERY single time and the next time it comes in, the screen says it's NEW. That went on for a couple of weeks and then all of a SUDDEN......... I don't get that call anymore.

IT WORKS, I'M HAPPY and IT WAS WORTH THE MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH..........!!

Impact of "Verification" on Product Performance

Digitone's customer service has been outstanding. When Comcast, my landline provider, recently started placing a bracketed "v" before numbers from cell phones (including my own), the Pro Series II character blocked all such calls. A Digitone representative informed me both by phone and on this site how to turn off character blocking, although it requires calls emanating from "800" and like numbers to be blocked individually, not automatically. I since learned the "v" means the call has been "verified" by Comcast (presumably other providers have implemented this measure as well) and thus not fraudulent. Further, verified Caller ID cannot be turned off.
So, in what I trust to be an effort to improve security, Comcast is rendering third-party call blocking, which has been a godsend, more cumbersome -- a truly unfortunate consequence.

Answer the phone if you dare!

Imagine a bank that allows "spoof" tellers. They aren't employees, but simply dishonest people anxious to get hold of your banking information. This is the situation with the phone company and their refusal to stop spoofing. To help reduce or eliminate this annoying problem, we have to shell out money to try to fix this. I shopped around and finally found the Digitone Proseries II Call Blocker. You have to work with it for a while to pare down all the annoying, and possibly dangerous calls...but it works! I have gone down from three up to ten+ telemarketer/scam calls a day to none. Oh, they still try, but this device blocks them. I don't use the First Ring Suppression feature since I want to be alerted to an incoming spoof call. Eventually, I will block even that. Hmmm. Excuse me, but my phone is ringing. Oh, it's probably just my bank....

Call me happy

This company takes a different approach. I have used another call blocker for about 5 years, and I spent quite a lot of time hitting "the big, red button." Digitone's approach has my phone ringing less and less. The company's extraordinarily large number of built-in bad numbers almost does away with the "usual suspects." Read the description of the product on Amazon, the ProSeries II Call Blocker by Digitone, and compare it to other call blockers. I'm a totally happy camper. Good results and peace of mind.

Blocks the spam calls. Highly recommend

This device is a dead stop for calls with a faked number, those that don’t send caller ID, and it can also be quickly programmed to block a large variety of other situations. Before I bought this we were receiving dozen or more scam calls each day. Now, the phone rings once with a blocked call and then hangs up automatically.

The key to success with this device is programming it with the types of calls you want blocked and the easiest way to do this is to watch the types of calls that are coming in for a few days, then going back and doing a name block for those you no longer want. For example, I've blocked these types: VOIP CALLER, TOLL FREE CALL, TEXAS CALLER, OUT OF AREA, and those that send no caller ID at all. In 99% of the cases, I found that all these types of identification were associated with spam callers, many of which were in India and impersonating the IRS, fake bill collectors, and computer software or repair scams.

Question & Answer

Question :

Can you enter a number )from the phone) to unblock it. Or must you find it from a very large blocked list?

Answer :

If your caller's number is still in Call History, then just use the Unblock button on it when you see it. If it is not there then, you can easily delete that number with program control using Code 98 then that number then the * key. To access programming, just pick up the phone connected to the ProSeries blocker, dial # # and wait for the Beep, then dial 98 [the number] then * and you will hear two Beeps to let you know it is deleted.

Question :

How many numbers can you manually block before it gets full, or older numbers are auto deleted?

Answer :

The ProSeries II will store 800 numbers, area codes, wildcard strings or any combination of these and auto delete older numbers on a continuous basis in Virtual Memory. However, if you manually code the numbers in with code 40, these entries will not be included in the auto delete function and remain stored. From our past customers' experience, it was noted that they had not yet 'filled' the blocked number storage in over 5 years. So 800 number allotment is more than enough to satisfy your yearly storage, particularly with the preloaded millions of known out of area and other numbers already blocked.

Question :

The manual says out of area calls are blocked. Does that mean all calls from outside my area code are blocked?

Answer :

NO. Out of Area just by itself is blocked. However, if you need all Out of Area calls to ring through then use the override command of Code 76. Callers from all area codes will ring through like normal because they will have person's real names and numbers, not Out of Area. Additionally, if they do, then you can use the Invite button to override that blocked number even from Out of Area.

Question :

Will this work with spectrum voice which uses voip (voice over internet protocol) to transport calls?

Answer :

YES. Spectrum may be using "VoIP" voice transfer digitally, but their Phone Service is still analog at the Phone port.

Question :

Description says spoofed calls are blocked automatically. How, when scammers spoof real local numbers?

Answer :

Real local numbers that are sent to your phones are called Neighborhood Spoofing and can be defeated with our Select Mode feature. Spoofed calls under our definitions include made up exchanges like 000, 111, V type numbers in the Name field like V32872349432, various illegal characters in the Number field like ______6_____, fake telephone IDs like 800 Service, all of which are blocked by default.

Question :

Can it automatically block callers whose name is same as phone number?

Answer :

The unit automatically blocks any number that is included in its database. It also automatically blocks certain numbers identified as "Out of Area". Any other number can be blocked by either pressing the red button after the call has ended or by using the key sequence * 2 # per the instructions. Once manually blocked, the unit will always block the number automatically.

Question :

Does the blocked caller hear an a announcement?

Answer :

NO. The blocked caller only hears the very first ring back tone and then silence. The phones connected to the ProSeries Blocker will not ring.

Question :

I have the original Digitone model -I’m getting the message that the block list is full. Is there a way to fix it or will this one do the same thing?

Answer :

You can enable Code 46 to start deleting really old numbers from the beginning of the block list. The automatic memory management will prevent you from running into Full issues again. Once you enable this method you can start blocking numbers again. Any numbers that continue to be harassing repeaters can just be entered into the non auto delete list with Code 40 [Number] * key which will never be deleted by Code 46.

Question :

My mom has a logic mark freedom alert system connected to her wireless phone with an answering machine. can i connect the digitone to this setup?

Answer :

YES. Using a line splitter (duplex jack) connect the alert system to one side of the splitter and the other to the ProSeries Call Blocker LINE in port. Connect her combo phone system to the TEL port of the ProSeries. This allows the alert system to be independent of her phone blocking needs

Question :

Will it allow incoming international calls that I want?

Answer :

International calls typically are received as Out of Area due to the originating telecom that doesn't send the subscriber's Caller ID name or number. These call types are blocked by the ProSeries II Blocker. However, you can allow Out of Area to ring through with Code 76 override. International calls that do have their country code and phone number displayed WILL ring through like normal.
