Prior to buying this cover, I had been using tape and Post-it notes to cover my webcam when not in use, but I was sick and tired of wiping off the sticky residue. I didn't realize aftermarket covers existed for these webcams, so the tape and Post-it notes method had been my go-to method to maintain privacy since I purchased the webcam. I don't remember how I ran into third-party/aftermarket webcam covers, but I eventually found myself on Amazon exploring different cover types from different brands.
My computer case is wall-mounted just above one of my monitors, so I needed a cover that wouldn't require having to be flipped all the way up to stay in place since the bottom of my case prevents a cover from being able to be flipped all the way up. Based on the description and reviews, the HUYUN cover seemed to have enough friction at the hinge to maintain its position at any range between closed to fully open, and sure enough, it does! It turned out to be exactly what I needed and hoped for.
I was a little nervous purchasing this cover because I saw some reviews stating that it didn't fit the C920. However, the one I received fit nice and snug, ensuring a secure fit. I'm able to open the cover easily, and as I stated before, there's enough friction at the hinge to keep the cover completely closed, partially open, to all the way open. For me, it works as I need it to. |

This privacy shutter fits my C920 like a glove. The fit is snug, the shutter opens and closes easily, but it's not loose - it stays at wherever position you leave it at. So for what it is, I rate it a five star.
Because prices can go up and down over time I chose not to factor that into my review. But I have to say these should be selling for about $2 tops, not the $10.99 that I paid. Still, it's (currently) the cheapest alternative I could find to Logitech's even pricier privacy shutter offering. |

I'm glad that I waited before writing this review. At first, the Privacy Shutter seemed to come off too easily. After a week I thought to push it on a little harder. Doh! It snaps into place and stays put. You can still adjust it left and right. And, the shutter stays up when raised, and is easy to raise and lower.
It's great to have a privacy shutter, to guarantee that even if your camera is activated nobody can spy on you. And, during Zoom conferences I can lower the shutter and nobody can see where I went or what I'm doing.
It's a great little privacy shutter. You just need to push firmly to pop it on. |

I have Logitech c920 and c922 camera and wanted a cover that could work for both. This cover fits perfectly on both of them. Its very easy to clip on. Just put the bottom part of the clip on the bottom part of camera and then push the top part until it clicks on the camera. Don't push too hard as it's just a gentle click. Once attached it is possible to move it gently if it's not centered. It looks just like c920s that comes pre attached with logitech cover.
When you need to use the camera you can gently lift the cover and the cover remains open. The open cover does not obstruct the view of the camera. When done just gently close it and it stays closed. I use the word gently as with over use anything will eventually break. It is plastic so using it gently will help the product last longer. |

I put it on my Logitech 920 and when shut it totally blocks the picture. There is no light that enters the lens at all. Very nice.
It is also very easy to flip it open. I don't have the camera mounted at all, just sitting on top of the monitor and so far I'm not moving the camera around by opening and closing the lid. To me that means it has just about the perfect amount of seal to keep the light out and yet easy enough to open that I don't have to re-adjust the camera position every time, which can get annoying.
However for what it is, I think it is rather expensive. |

| This fits well on the C922x. You do have to give it a good press to get it on, but it has a nice thin rubber layer on the mounts to stay in place. It's almost like the Logitech original cover, except when you open it you can see the shiny metal pin holding the cover to the frame. This really doesn't matter and you wouldn't know it if you didn't have one of the originals (I have a C920s as well). |
