★★★★★ | YES!!! Both sidearms w/mags in this Pelican 1200 case! | Verified Purchase | This 1200 case is the perfect size not for just 1 firearm but in fact there is room for 2 with magazines! (must be reasonable size for concealed carry). You cannot put them side by side, but you CAN store both firearms along with 2 magazines each in 2 protected layers on top of each other! This case is deep enough for both my sidearms. I sliced the Pick N'Pluck foam in half horizontally with a razor knife. Changed out the original bottom foam with one that is a bit thinner (use one about 3/8" thick). Then one half of the Pick N'Pluck foam on top of that fits my S&W M&P Shield 9mm with 2 mags perfectly, with some room to spare. Another 3/8" foam separator and the 2nd half of Pick N'Pluck foam on top fits my Glock 17 9mm and 2 mags perfectly. S@@ the pictures! Or I can switch the Glock and S&W top to bottom, fits perfectly either way. Both firearms are fully protected by foam from any damage, scratches, or wear. THIS CASE is Awesome!!! It is well built and sturdy. It will last for many years. TSA approved! You can't go wrong with this case! Not anything much larger than a Glock 17 if you want room for mags, and you're good to go! JUST GET ONE! | | ★★★★★ | For anyone wanting to use this case to secure firearms ... | Verified Purchase | For anyone wanting to use this case to secure firearms while traveling, don't hesitate! Check out the pictures, I have a Glock 17 with magazine inserted, box of defensive ammo, flashlight and a 21 round Magpul PMAG fit tightly inside. But wait, there's still room for another gun! The contents I have only take up about half of the depth of this box. You can fit another pistol or similar layout underneath what I have pictured and separate it with a thin layer of foam. You'll have to get creative and find some thin foam that isn't included in this box but it's certainly doable in a way that won't have the guns scratching against each other. Based on another review, I went for the ABUS 64TI/30 2-PACK locks to secure the outside. While they're only 3/16", they're very well made and leave an incredibly small amount of wiggle room on the shackle. This will be what I use to fly with and I feel it's a very secure setup. Sure, someone can break the locks or cut around the plastic but this kind of setup is just a deterrent, not a $2,000 safe. | | ★★★★★ | The Last Lunchbox You'll Ever Own... | Verified Purchase | Picked up the Pelican 1200 as a replacement carrier for the groceries I love to stuff down my neck at work. Had a series of mishaps with my last two carriers involving limited visibility, my car, a mannequin, and a #3 lock washer....too difficult to explain. However, I swore that wouldn't happen again, so I searched for something that would offer a more sturdy and accident-tolerant conveyance for my potted meat. Enter the Pelican 1200: perfect size for carrying lunchables, indestructible construction that guarantees that it will be here longer than your children's children, waterproof sealing so that the smell of your week-old fish doesn't escape to kill others, and completely lockable to secure your precious ham sammich. My only regret is not getting a slightly larger one that could accommodate my stainless tumbler with my food.... | | ★★★★★ | Awesome case for pistols with 4.5" barrel! | Verified Purchase | For pistols with a 4.5" barrel, this is truly a thing of beauty. Sturdy enough to be used in the military, waterproof, shock resistant, and solidly built, you have just enough room in the 1200 case for your pistol with magazine inserted, and one more magazine. First you spend some time carefully "picking and plucking" out your outline withe perforated blocks, then get your hot glue gun out. Glue the modified foam down to the base foam. Then use the foam you picked out along with the hot glue gun to carefully create another layer of foam inside the cutout to match the cutout shape, and glue it to the base foam. This means that when you are done the gun sits up at the surface as it should. If you make a mistake on the outline, don't worry, you can simply hot glue a block back in here and there. I followed these steps and as you can see in the picture, the results are very nice. You cannot buy a better gun case in my view. A caution to those wanting to use this for a 5" barrel pistol, you won't be left with much if any foam on the two sides, meaning that you won't have any shock protection in those directions. I would advise those of you with 5" barrels to go to the next size. For 4.5" and less, this is the ticket! | | ★★★★★ | It's a pelican, what can I say? Top ... | Verified Purchase | It's a pelican, what can I say? Top notch construction all around.
I was able to get a Sony A6000 with 3 lenses and 2 batteries in there, but it's a tight fit.
Also a plus that I can take the foam out and use it as a pistol case when traveling. | | ★★★★★ | Great storage / transport case for GoPro cameras | Verified Purchase | I bought a 1200 in orange for my two GoPro cameras and assorted mounts (see uploaded pictures). The 1200 is the perfect size (depth) to fit a GoPro camera on its side; you would likely waste a lot of space under the camera if you mounted it on its back. The case is the perfect size for my use (a Hero 3+, an original Hero HD, one BacPac, WiFi remote, spare adhesive mounts, spare backdoors, suction cup mount, handlebar mount, and assorted mount extensions / pivots. If I get any more mounts or another BacPac I will have trouble fitting it all in this case.
The case itself is great build quality and feels very sturdy (just like every Pelican case I've used). The latches take significant effort to open, but that means they'll be less likely to pop open on accident. I would not hesitate to buy another Pelican case should I outgrow this one or need another one for other items.
I chose to go with a Pelican case rather than a soft case because I've used Pelican cases before at work and in person life and have always been impressed with their ability to protect sensitive contents, even when used as checked luggage. Based on this past experience, I knew it could easily protect my cameras in the trunk of my car. I went with orange so if I'm trying to find this at night after a long day I could easily spot it. | | ★★★★★ | This worked perfect for my Taurus G2C. | Verified Purchase | First off, I think it is hilarious that this is advertised as a camera case but is used more for pistols than cameras, but after giving it a shot, I understand why. You could not find a better way to store a pistol. I wanted something that I could keep by the bedside for quick access in the event of home defense, but also could be locked to prevent unwanted little hands from getting into to, but also that I could pick up and set in the truck to go to the range with. This accomplishes all three. Plus, it is DURABLE. I haven't been able to battle test it by throwing it around in the mud or anything, but you can tell by holding it that it is strong and could take a beating or a good drop. And the buckles + seal make me think that it truly is waterproof.
Anyways, to the important part. I opted for this model because it is deeper and I wanted to have a box of ammo in there with the pistol. The box has two layers of the pull-apart foam, and my G2C and the spare mag only go one layer deep, while the box of ammo goes two. This works great because in the event that I had to quickly grab it and get out of there, I have two loaded magazines and a full 50-round box, so 74 rounds.
I would think that a bigger pistol would require either a bigger box or sacrificing the extra ammo, but Pelican has so many sizes that I don't think this would be hard to do. It is perfect for storage and travel, and I don't think my pistol would ever be harmed inside this case. I am 100% satisfied with this purchase and will always have one for each pistol. | | ★★★★★ | I purchased this for air traveling with my 9mm Smith ... | Verified Purchase | I purchased this for air traveling with my 9mm Smith and Wesson M&P pistol. I was able to cut out a cavity for the pistol and two magazines. It works perfectly and didn't tick off TSA. I had to buy two different pad locks to find one that would work. Be sure to find a lock with a long shaft, the traditional size lock shaft will not do. | | ★★★★★ | Great case ... reasonable price. | Verified Purchase | This particular case is pretty small ... about the size of your average lunchbox ... but it is really tough and very adaptable to any use suited to its size. In my particular case, I chose it as a carrying/storage case for six Midland walkie talkies, which fit perfectly in it when lined up front to back, belt clips removed. No room for accessories, but my main interest was keeping all the radios together in the smallest possible carrying case.
I took out the entire center of the pick/pluck foam layer (it's exactly 2 1/8" inches thick), leaving just the uncut foam border, and then replacing the pick/pluck center with a home-made frame of cardboard separators, 2 1/8" deep, just so the radios don't knock against each other inside. Couldn't have worked/fit more perfectly (see photo).
I've got a larger SKB case, and would call this Pelican case comparable to SKB in every way, except the latches, which are significantly harder to open/close than the ones on my SKB case. These ones are pressure/tension clasps ... SKB uses a spring loaded toggle, covered by an outer latch ... easily opened with a press of your finger. Not a big deal for me, however ... especially at this price. I found this Pelican case to be a great alternative to SKB, which are a bit more expensive. | | ★★★★★ | ... without a doubt pelican cases are by far the best I have used | Verified Purchase | Ok so without a doubt pelican cases are by far the best I have used. They are robust, not too heavy and can be easily customized. The reason I purchased this case had been to store my Zoom H6 Handy Recorder to which I cannot seem to find anyone who did this before. Needless to say, this case did its job and everything fit well. The Zoom H6 itself, the XY and Mid/Side microphones together with a pair of Behringer C2 Cardiod microphones stacked on top of each other. I also left space for the Zoom shotgun mount still to be purchased. Unfortunately I didn't get to take pictures however under the Zoom i made cut outs for battery together with a power brick for AC power. Attached are pictures of the Pelican 1200 together with a comparison of my other pelican cases the Pelican 1600 where i have all my camera gear stored and the Pelican 1300 thats dedicated for my Gopro Hero 4 Black and its accessories. Hope this review helped anyone. Thanks! | | See more reviews |

Question: | Will a Nikon D750 fit and maybe a lens or 2? | Answer: | I am not familiar with the size of the D750 Nikon. The Pelican 1200 case is only 7.25" x 9.5" x 3" deep. My Nikon D7000 and D71000 DSLR camera bodies are each almost 4" tall. So, I would need to place the camera body (without lens attached) lying on its back, for it to fit in this case. If I did put one of those camera bodies in this case, there would not be room for either lens I use with them: 18~200mm or 70~300mm. In fact, I may not even get either of those lenses in the case, even if I just put the lens in by itself. As a general rule, I have tried to only use about half of the interior volume in one of these cases--so the foam will provide the protection that was intended on all sides of the equipment. And going by that standard, I would not put anything in this case that was any bigger than 3.5" x 4.5" x 2" of total volume. Otherwise, the things you put inside are too close to each other, or to the sides, to be adequately protected. Check the Pelican web site to compare the sizes of all the cases they offer. Not all the sizes are listed for the cases as they come up on Amazon. There are so many sizes it can be confusing trying to compare them. I drew out the dimensions on a piece of paper (even overlapping them) to see the different surface area they would cover, and then compared them with the equipment I wanted to put in them, to see what size I needed to order. So, unless you are talking about a small "point and shoot" size camera, with interchangeable lenses, I don't see getting a full sized DSLR style camera in this case, unless you removed the foam inserts. And that would only provide moisture protection.
| | Question: | Where is this case made? | Answer: | The sticker on the front marked, Made in the USA. I did not find any thing else on the case to make me think differently.. | | Question: | i have a lot of accesories ? is this a good case to use for them ?? i have a gopro hero 3+ | Answer: | It works well for that. In my case it holds the camera with all of the backs(03) plus a dive case with all of the backs(3),the black out case with all of the backs(3),the LCD touchback with the case backs(6), extension pole, flat base, attachment joints, cables, rollbar mount, bicycle mount, NVG mount, floaty back, and 1 or 2 others that I cant remember at this time. If you have the large accessories like the chesty, tripod, sportsman mount and such along with the aforementioned accessories you may need a larger case but for just the camera and small accessories it works very well.
| | Question: | I want to use this case to house LiPo batteries. How well will it contain an internal fire, or will the case brake down? | Answer: | The case will probably melt, I fly jet aircraft for a living and I know containing an internal battery fire from a runaway battery is a disastor and it's call for an immediate desent and landing. Our multi thousand dollar battery containers on board might not even containe such a thing even if small for more than a few minutes. You need a much more sturdier container which will cost you thousands, You just have to be aware of what you got with you when using these batteries. Half the battle is knowing that a runaway is possible and puting it on an open piece of concret is your best bet till it runs it's course. I happy to know some people are aware of the potential of a desastor with these new batteries, you should see the stuff people come on board with on our aircraft without even thinking. (yes it all looks harmless and there is no one to really inform them.) At least you know.
| | Question: | Model 1200 is a smaller size than the 1170, yet more expensive. Does the 12xx series have better features than 11xx? | Answer: | If you multiply the LxWxH the 1200 is a larger case. Both have the exact same features and construction. The use the same latches and composite material. Same box, different size. | | Question: | Is this case available without foam? | Answer: | Yes we sell all our cases with or without foam. Best regards C2CSAFETY INC | | Question: | can you store a flashlight and extra batteries in this case? | Answer: | Check the inside measurements of the case and compare them to the flashlight | | Question: | Would this case fit a GoPro Hero3? or would it be too big? | Answer: | This case would fit a Gopro | | Question: | Will ruger charger fit. I don't have the takedown version | Answer: | Absolutely not. | | Question: | Will it fit a 380, 9mm, and a 38 ? | Answer: | a CZ P-07 9mm with picatinny rail laser and a Bersa BP9CC stacked on top with foam layer between, 2 CZ mags and a double stack loader with a side clip knife fit very comfortably. No mags in the firearms. | | See more questions |
