Simply awesome!!! (one warning tho)

These are fantastic and will definitely hold your VR headset out of the way while using it. They are quiet and very well built.
I only have one WARNING (and it's not a bad thing): For those planning on using the adhesive hooks, get some of the 3M command hooks and use those to set this up at first. Use it that way until you know EXACTLY where you want to position the hooks. I say this because the adhesive on the hooks is extremely sticky and once they are installed there is no way to remove them without paint coming off the ceiling. Also, once they come off they lose all stickiness, but they include a couple of extra hooks just in case. I also recommend the triangle configuration with 3 of them on the ceiling and one hanging in the center supported by the 3. Look it up, there are a bunch of videos on youtube about it.

Now These Are The Pulleys We Needed!
Color: Black | Verified Purchase
I have the version 1 pulleys and they work pretty well (4 Stars). They did have some nuances, but they were no different from anything else on the market. Kiwi has released their Version 2 and it is exactly what I was looking for! The set up is different than the version 1 as they include a "mounting ring". Essentially its a ring that you can attach three of the pulleys to and in the center of the ring there's a spot for the fourth pulley that you attach your VR cable to (See photo). This removes the tugging feeling almost entirely. If the version 1 was an 80% on the cord pulling, the version 2 would be a 97%, tugging has been almost completely removed! Everything felt smooth and they pulleys are cleanly designed. These are worth the extra price and I think most purchasers will be happy with this pulley system! Set up was simple and it comes with ceiling hooks or ceiling command strip type sticky mounts. The sticky mounts are STRONG so use caution when removing, as it WILL take some drywall with it if not removed carefully (use a blow dryer).

Quality and Options!
Color: Black | Verified Purchase
Color Me Impressed! I was looking for a good way to keep from getting tangle whilst amidst the virtual worlds and what not, so i did a quick search and found these bad boys! I have to say the quality certainly is there. the actual cable holders do a great job of supporting the cable without resistance when you move around.

Something else I do greatly appreciate is the inclusion of multiple mounting options instead of just sticking you with cheap adhesive hooks.

This instruction are good as well. They do a great job of explaining everything you need to know.

I can not recommend these highly enough! A mist buy for sure.

Think twice about adhesive vs screw hooks
Color: White | Verified Purchase
These work great but I highly suggest using the screw mounted hooks instead of adhesive. If you have painted ceilings the adhesive is almost definitely going to pull off the paint unless you remove them with heat very carefully and are generally a lot more of an eyesore than the small white hooks when not in use. Filling in small holes will be way easier than a big paint chip, trust me. The adhesive hooks also create a lot of noise because the metal hook rattles around loosely in the plastic adhesive part. This is just about my only complaint with the product. Maybe an easy to remove adhesive like command strips would be a good improvement.

VR Freedom!

VR with this pulley system is, no pun intended, a game changer. For the price, it's hard to not feel like you're getting so much more in return for your dollar. You can move freely around your game area without the cumbersome, and often infuriating, cable weighing you down and getting in the way. Stepping on the cable and getting jerked back, or even worse, tripped up is a thing of the past.

The pulleys themselves appear to be made quality materials and provide just enough tension to keep the cord out of the way, but not so much where you feel like you're fighting against it. I got the white ones which blend in with my ceiling and are not nearly as offensive to look at as I thought they would be.

What I really like about the system is it pretty much eliminated my need for extension cables. When you run the cable on the floor you kinda need extra cable to keep it flat on the floor and out of your way. But the pulleys keep it out of the way all the time without the need for excess slack. 10 out of 10 a must for anyone who wants to experience VR without restrictions.

Very impressed

I had been looking at various pulley systems for a while wondering whether they really get the job done or not. I decided to give it a try and I have to say this is great value for the money and it kinda exceeded my expectations. I thought the cables would still hang down quite a bit or that there would be quite a bit of tug on my headset, but these actually get the job done extremely well. Even when I am at the furthest corner of my play area I barely feel any tug at all. There is a little bit but it isn't bothersome even when I crouch. It's very quiet too! Overall this is great value for the money and it exceeded my expectations. The cables look a bit ugly hanging around but that's ok. One tip I'd give people is to use a cheap carbiner for quick release of the headset when you are storing it. You can use a velcro strap to attach a little eyelet ting and attach it at the cable at about 2-3 feet from the headet itself, and then easily unhook the headset when you are finished playing and put it up on a shelf or wherever you store it.

Definitely Worth the Upgrade!

I had previously bought the $20 VR Cable Management from KIWI, and I'm replacing them for multiple reasons, which the pro version has improvements for:

The wire - steel vs dyneema:
The pro version has a dyneema wire, which is stronger than steel, more flexible, cannot rust, cannot weaken from bending, cannot weaken from twisting. These are all problems that I experienced with the thin steel wire, which broke after 150-200 hours of use, and I'm confident the dyneema will handle constant movement and bending far better than steel.

The cable holder - silicone strap vs rubber o-ring:
The pro version has a plastic cable holder with a silicone strap to buckle the cable in. On the standard version, they give you a rubber o-ring, which you wrap around your cable, and attach to a tiny metal clip with sharp edges. The metal clip wears into the o-rings and causes them to break. On the pro version, the silicone strap is far thicker than the o-ring, and is held straight by the plastic buckle, so it cannot twist or wear down.

The wall attachment is identical to the standard version, which is fine. It worked well for me in the past, and I don't mind that nothing changed. Though the standard version also used the metal clips and o-ring to attach to the wall. The pro version has a silicone loop built into the reels, which again, is much better because the o-rings can break.

The overall construction is also much nicer. The reel is a custom plastic mold for the brand with a higher quality plastic, as opposed to the standard version, which looks and feels like a generic part, made with cheap materials. The higher quality materials do make the pro version quieter than the standard version, but I would not call it silent. There is still the sound of the the reel (think of how a retractable badge, or key holder sounds).

I look forward to using the pro version of this product for a long time, and I would recommend anyone considering the standard version to upgrade. The standard version will work ok, but it will wear down after a while.

Does the job well.

They work great, perform as advertised, and keep my chord out of my way.

I can't drill holes in my apartment, so I'm using the sticky pads. I actually have one of them on the blinds of my window to get the chord above the floor, and three attached to the blades of a ceiling fan.

When I move and need to take them down, I should be able to do it with a hair dryer to warm up the glue enough to pull them down without damaging anything. It's very strong adhesive, not gorilla glue or anything, but they won't come off easily once set.

They aren't going to pull my fan down or disrupt it. Putting the thing in reverse mode so it pulls air instead of blowing it will put more downward force on the fan than these things generate while in use, and they are easily unhooked.

I can't use the fan anyway when playing VR as I risk putting my hands into them and breaking my controllers. It's barely low enough to allow that to happen if I'm aiming close to straight up, which I occasionally do in some games.

The stickers are large is, at a couple of inches square, but not nearly enough weight to unbalance the fan, and the hooks that the pulleys attach to don't cause any problems.

I think perhaps people complaining about too much pull aren't using enough of them. The more you use, the more the weight is distributed, and the less pull there is.

I generally use four at a time, which is enough to support the weight of my Index cable. I also recommend not putting them on as tight as they will go on, as I think that is what is damaging some people's cables. I use the second slot so they can slide a little. It still holds the cable in place while in use, but I can push them to where I want them if I want to adjust something.

I generally don't feel them until I bend or crouch down, and even then barely. Certainly not enough to displace the HMD.

I was using a couple of jerry rigged dog collars before I got these and they were way worse.

This works as a solution to getting your VR cabling off the floor and out of your play area. It's not perfect, the only perfect solution would be wireless, but for PC VR for high end PC VR that doesn't have a wireless solution yet, these do the job.

Recommended.

necessary, and cool

I run the Vale Index, and I have a good size play area, with a padded floor. The wire for the valve is heavy, and, well, I can be a bit crazy with my movement. I box on thrill of the fight, and I engage Onward Daily, and aggressively. This means, I move, and need to move. These devices make that easy. I mean easy. They have sticky hooks, that stay on tight, with not one coming off in more than a month now of daily use. But, when I go to move them, they come off easy enough, and still...Yes...Still, stick right back on in the new location. I have moved them three times. I know...I know...unbelievable. But its true. Now, I started with a square pattern to hold my wires. Yes, I get it now, not the right pattern. A straight line is perhaps best, so, I got wise, and set them up better. World of difference. I will get another set soon, and improve, though the improvement is not needed. One set was enough, and I am glad I got this product right away. Price, forgetaboutit! Its perfect. No reason to not get your wires organized and I do not see a reason to shop around for other options, this works great. Thank you for the care.

Fantastic and compete solution

This kit comes with everything you need. Having the cables off the floor (and with minimal tension from above) really helps with immersion ... the next best thing to wireless at 1/10th the cost. Other companies are selling a box of random parts from Home Depot, but this set is made of custom components designed to work well and look good too. The white plastic blends in better with the ceiling and makes the system look less cluttered. A much recommended upgrade for any tethered VR headset.

Custom Questions & answers

Question:does the overhead cable tend to get in the way of moving around or storing the headset?
Answer:It depends on how much you are reeling back in when your HMD is not on. You get enough mounting hardware to make an endpoint triangular tension on three reels which makes for extremely easy use when you are in VR. If you set it up properly you shouldn't have much cabling in the way. If you are only connecting one reel at the end you might get a little more interaction with the HMD cabling.

Storage is trickier. If you are storing your HMD near the last connection point(s) of the reels then you shouldn't have much trouble with any cables being unmanageable. If not you can either disconnect the loops around the cables for your HMD or just remove the reels from their mounting hooks. Personally I just take the reels off the hooks so they stay connected to the same points along the cables to my HMD. When I am ready to use it I just put them back on the hooks and I can hop in without tweaking the setup.

Question:Does anyone have a reccomendation for an adhesive (like 3m Command Strips) that can be used for the ceiling that won't ruin the paint on the ceiling?
Answer:I used the .5 lbs command strip hooks (the base is plastic and the hook is a separate metal piece). I wasn’t sure if they would hold up to being tugged on but they have been up for over a month of almost daily play and are working perfectly! I didn’t use the supplied adhesive hooks out of fear of ceiling damage.

Question:What is the retraction force on these in oz ??
Answer:I'd have to get a gauge, but I can tell you this; if you are laying down on the floor these perfectly, offset the weight of my Tethertools 3.0 cables so you don't feel it at all. Its a very freeing experience.

Question:what color are the hooks that come with the white version?
Answer:Thanks for your question.
They are white.

Question:Would this work with oxygen tubing? My elderly father has like 25ft dragging all across floor so this could be a anti trip answer.
Answer:I wouldn’t try it simply because the tubing could be more thin than a VR wire and could easily get pinched at a certain point cutting off the air. Would hate to let people tell you to try without mentioning this hazard.

Question:How do I get the sticky hooks off my ceiling to move them? I gentrly pulled one off and it ripped a quarter-sized piece of drywall, primer, and paint
Answer:They are pretty sticky, so some folks are going to lose paint. Mine didn't have this problem. I would say that if it has bonded to the paint, there is no way you are going to be able to use them again, and you really can't expect a product like this to be moved. It has sticky stuff on it, dude. Try to manage your expectations. I got a pack of them, only needed two, so I think I have four others in case I need to move my rig. Also, if you gently pulled on it, you wouldn't have lost drywall. Seriously, they are like 3 bucks apiece.

Question:Have you used the adhesion hook? How does it work? Is it a suction cup or sticky tab?
Answer:Sticky tabs. Very strong, as long as your ceiling isn't especially textured.

Question:I bought this, but I need one more! Any way to buy singles?
Answer:No there is not.

Question:Will the command strips work on a popcorn ceiling?
Answer:No needs to be flat

Question:How well does this stick to bubble ceilings?
Answer:You need to anchor them in. Don’t Try to use adhesive on that. My ceiling is textured and they are anchored in very well.
