Technology wise we’ve definitely come to a place where the cameras are so good that a lot of the magic has been lost. Diffusion seems to be a good way to add some of that flavor back into your creative work. Halation and softer edges without blooming the highlights to the point of a soft warm mess.

Tiffen makes some great filters and the quality can’t be beat. You know that you’ll get that Hollywood looks because this is the exact filters used in Hollywood.

So step it up a notch. I dare ya.

I personally like this filter better than some of the lower strengths, I feel like it is very stylized but still looks great and smooth. I have this filter and the PrismLensFX Dream FX filter, and they are definitely similar in strength. However, the official Tiffen Black Pro Mist 1 has such smoother halation rolloff, and is far more pleasing than the sharp edged ball of glow you get with the DreamFX.

The case that is comes in is the same lame little flippy case that all their UV filters and other filters come in. Does not feel very secure or protective.

I am very pleased with this filter, and can’t wait to use it on future projects.

Shot some cars and I love the finished product! Haven't had the pleasure of shooting portraits with it yet but wow I'm blown away. [Used it on my Sony a6000 with a newer 50mm]

A must have!

An absolute must have for photos and video. I used it the day I got it to take this picture and it’s the right amount of haze while still preserving details. You’d be crazy not to have this on hand at all times!

Greatest filter ever

I use this for street photography, portraits, and automotive photography, great dream like effects and any harsh light turns into a soft glow. Highly recommend 1/4 and a full stop i have both on each lens

Perfect but it's a lot sometimes!

I bought this and it was perfect for what I want. I was going to get the 1/2 but then I decided to go big or go home and got the 1. It's a lot of softness sometimes, but it's a nice effect for when you want that dreamy look.
