I've never heard of a version number on a rewritable Blu-ray disc. It you are referring to HDMI 2.0, then this would not apply to Blu-ray discs.

Will these play on my HP desktop ?
Answer :
As others have already commented, they will only work (read or write) if your HP desktop is equipped with a Blu-Ray optical drive. I had to add a drive in order to write to these disks.

I can't record on my new bd-re discs. I can't gain permission to remove the lockout. I don't know what to do?

I recently had problems with these BD-RE 25GB discs. The error on mine says the supposedly rewritable discs are write protected. Write protected? Sort of defeats the rewritable purpose of the discs. I have tried to find an answer online as to how to undo the write protected setting on the discs and could not find an answer. From the product reviews, it appears some of use received discs from a bad batch.
