CNC does it again....Great Ballhead
When a product is designed well and machined with CNC out of quality aluminum in today's state of the art machine shops, it is almost impossible to match the quality and low cost of Asian production today. This head is a bargain that I trust with a 9K camera rig on it. Smooth, accurate, stable, responsive, well thought out.....overall competes with 4x to 6x priced heads. Steady with 20lb. rig or more. As to longevity, only time will tell however for someone using it on a non-daily basis it may last 20+ years.

This Low Profile Ball Head by ARTCISE is really well made, it has great heft and solid feel. The panoramic function is real helpful. Comes with 2 ARCA type quick release shoes which are quite secure and sturdy. I am very happy with this purchase.
One thing I find irksome is teenie tiny level buble which requires a magnifier to see and requires magical powers to see with camera attached. Another fault is the ball itself has jerky movement unless you completely loosen the thightening knob, not a big deal or deal breaker. Once loosened all the way, the ball swivels in all directions smoothly. I highly recommend this ball head rather than spend 4x more on a Really Expensive Stuff.

Yes. A standard arca plate will fit.
Also, the lever on the side of the head is not a quick release, to release the arca plate you twist the knob. The lever is a control for the top panning plate.

What is the second lever/knob on the mounting plate?

The mounting plate is rotatable and the lever is for locking the rotation. It's pretty handy.
