Great for taking pics of LIVE animals...
I love this! I've been looking for something to take pictures of cats and kittens (I run a rescue)... that would contain the animal while I take pictures. This works so good... and the cats and kittens look amazing! I added a little white shag rug and wala! We use the hole at the top to drop a little hanging toy down to distract them. The only thing I would change is the three windows (since I'm using live animals)... I would have liked if I could have better secured them... because once they find it, they want to exit... but I understand this is probably used more for still objects. Other than that it's fun and I love it!

Compact, Large, Built in Lighting, Portable, Easy to Use and takes GREAT Pictures...what else can you ask for.
WOW! There are quite a few possibilities with this Portable Photo Studio. The fact that it is self contained, compact and large was the selling point for me. Yes, there are other units on the market for half the price but the versatility this unit offers simply in my book doesn't stands out among the others. It is easy to set-up. You don't even have to read the instructions, that is how easy it is to use. All the pieces fold in and the unit itself compacts like a folded in half folding table with a handle. It takes 2-3 minutes to set-up and 2-3 minutes to tear down and put away. You can shoot from the top (1 slot), front (3 slots positions) and from the entire front for large items. A medium size duffle bag can fit in this, so its pretty large. The backdrop that is velcro to the top had a crease in it when I got it (as you will see in the pictures), but that is easily fixable so wasn't a deal breaker for me. Worst case you can put your own background. The way the background folds in half and velcro to the top of the unit when you pack it up, there will always be a crease it seems at the half way mark. Mine when I got it, it was not folded in half, it was actually folded weird which made for an incorrect diagonal line crease. I am just going to steam it out. The product overall is durable and not flimsy. The unit comes with built in lights so it is part of the unit, not sure if those can be replaced or not. The lighting itself is more than adequate for photo shots. You have the option of plugging in the unit or not so you can use your own or natural light if you choose to. This only comes with one background (white). You can certainly use different backgrounds of your own choice. I shot a Pepsi can at two distances with a DSLR Nikon D90 for comparison. I also shot an iPad with the screen on (disclaimer: the iPad has a glass screen protector) and I shot if from the top of the unit so you can see the glare of the lighting system of the unit, BUT when I shot it from the front I got no glare. I also shot a solid gold award statute and it came out great, a whole lot better than other settings and in natural light so no complaints there. Yes, I saw some reflection in it as it was solid gold which is reflective in nature, but it wasn't like other shots where it picked up everything and anything so I was totally happy. The rest of the pictures just shows you how to fold and pack it up...again really easy. Now, some pictures of the unit was taken when the lights were off already and it was being packed up. The power cord and instructions have a built in zipped pocket for easy storage as well. 13 Pictures are included.

Wish I had gotten this before - Kinda like cheating!
Wish I had gotten this before. I'm not a professional photographer but do need to photograph products and stuff for social media etc -- I went the route of spending ~$200 -$300 on reasonably priced studio lighting before. I hate how much space that stuff takes up and setting up and taking down is a hassle for my needs.
I was able to have this thing set up and taking really nice pictures in ~5 minutes. If you have a reasonable DSLR or other camera, just set your ISO low and get your other settings dialed in, and you'll have no issue taking really nice pictures fast. I will say, there is more glare on some items with the fairly direct lighting. I suspect I can just shield the light inside of the box a bit and then reduce the shutter speed to still get the white background (pretty much how I did it with studio lights anyways.

Huge Capacity and Super Portable
This photo box exceeded my expectations. It’s a breeze to setup - takes 20 seconds, and it intuitively folds open and closed.
The vinyl lining is removable, and seems to repel dust and dirt. Lights provide strong illumination, although I noticed that the lights tend to warm up when the unit is kept on for more than 10-15 minutes at a time.
The best thing about the unit is the large capacity. The inside is big! My cats like to join in on the photo shoots, and there's room for both of them plus a twelve inch diameter globe.
For folks mentioning the crease showing up in pictures, increasing your camera exposure slightly will resolve this issue.

This thing is awesome.
[UPDATE]
Added some photo's taken with my 6dMkII and developed in Adobe Raw.
[UPDATE]
I just finished shooting about 80 different products professionally using a full lighting set up and a white backdrop.
There are some products I will need to shoot where I have no choice but to go to the vendor's location, which I was dreading (still kind of am).
I had purchased a Godox studio box which seemed nice but was unfortunately dead on arrival and was much more of a, set it up once and leave it set up kind of rig. It was portable but not with the kind of ease this one gives you.
One thing I really worried about with this set-up was the lighting. Based on some of the photo's I've seen posted i was really worried that the lighting was going to be dim and sub-par.
That is not the case at all. I just shot 2 pics with my Pixel 1 and they came out great.
Another complaint I see is that the backdrop is creased.
Yes. It is creased. But I also see a lot of photos where people are not using it correctly. If you want a seamless backdrop you need to pull it out a bit so that the corner is sloped, not angled. When you do this and use the right exposure settings the seam almost disappears completely.
The set up is amazingly quick and easy. I was honestly kind of surprised at how well this thing is contained.
You just undo the velcro side straps and lift it up, the bottom drops and things just kinda slide into place. A few flap adjustments, then pull the adapter out of the top pocket, plug it in and you're ready to go.
As far as I can tell so far there are 5 different options for shooting angles, 1 top hole, 3 front small holes or fully open in the front.
The led panels are already diffused from their plastic covers.
For portable, on the go product shots, this thing is next level.
For a home studio, it isn't bad, there are definitely better options for a permanent-semi permanent rig. But I will be carrying this around to my clients when they can't bring gear to me (along with an extension cord).
I can't speak to the durability because I just got it. It looks well built but also looks like it'd be easy to break. Especially since the lights are built in. I'd recommend care when transporting it but I doubt anyone's gunna be frisbee tossing their studio so I probably dont need to warn you.
Unless you do want to frisbee toss your studio, then... pics or it didn't happen.
Anyway,
Super happy with my purchase.
If you need a portable product shot solution or just something you can pack away when done, this is a great solution.

Easy set-up, excellent quality results
Upon receiving my delivery of the AmazonBasics Portable Studio, within the first five minutes I was shooting excellent product photos. I'm not at all exaggerating - the set-up was incredibly easy-breezy, and the light emitted inside the box is perfectly balanced and positioned. I read some of the reviews posted by others that mentions the crease in the backdrop (or sweep) but I am not at all bothered by this, as it is incredibly subtle and can be easily edited out if it really bothers you that much. The backdrop is manufactured of a heavier vinyl-ish material - it seems this probably allows the backdrop to remain smooth and mostly wrinkle-free when the studio is folded up stored.
For reference, I should mention that I had previously purchased the following items as my product photo studio solution:
LimoStudio 16" Folding Photo Box Tent LED Light Table Top Photography Studio Kit
StudioPRO 675W Triple Translucent Umbrella Continuous Bright Lighting Kit for Photo, Photography, Film & Video Studio - (Set of 3)
Cowboystudio 33 inch Photography Studio Translucent Shoot Through White Umbrella
KAEZI 45 Watt Studio Grow Light Bulb Compact Fluorescent 5500K CFL Day Light Bulb (45 Watts)
My former set-up (the LimoStudio tent) came with four sweeps (white, black, blue and red), which I initially thought would be useful, but in the end, I only ever used the white sweep, which collected dirt very easily and was made of a cheap material that I found impossible to clean. The LED lights that came with that studio did not diffuse correctly and basically emitted a spotlight effect from whichever angle they were positioned. I then purchased the StudioPro umbrella kit to solve this problem - these took up a ton of floor space, and in my two-room apartment, such a thing was exceedingly inconvenient. Even after all of the additional items I purchased and the incessant tweaking I did, I was not happy with the quality of my product photos, and my studio set-up had taken over my life.
Ultimately, my experience, spending hours with all of these former components proved nothing but frustrating, and futile - they didn't come close to the ease of use and the immediate-high-quality output yielded within the first few minutes using the AmazonBasics studio.
The example photos I posted reflect a quick-and-dirty, unedited, no-filter test I did using my Microsoft Lumia 735 8.2 megapixel camera phone. I have a DSLR that I use for product photos, but this shows how decent the results are out of the box, using super-basic equipment.
I'm beyond satisfied with this purchase - it's everything I need, and I honestly wish I'd purchased it first, before sinking the same amount of money into separate components that ultimately didn't measure up.

Fantastic Photo Studio!
This is a fantastic product all around. I got it at the suggestion of my photographer husband. I needed something to be able to take crisp, clean photos of the dioramas I make. After looking at a few different portable photo studios, we decided to give this one a shot, and I am very satisfied with it. It really can’t be any easier to set up and take down. It’s basically fool-proof. Super easy to work with. In a matter of seconds I have it ready to go. And once I’m done with my photo session, I just unplug it and collapse it and BAM! Done! I collapse it whenever I’m not using it because we have 3 cats and I don’t want them to “explore” on top of it or inside of it. But it’s so easy that it’s no trouble at all to set it up and take it down again. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a portable studio that’s easy as pie to use! Great product, Amazon!!

A MUST HAVE
Great quality! Easy to setup and use. I started my own side business and take photos of all my sweet treats with this portable studio. I included my own background and all the colors in my photos are so vibrant. This studio does justice for my treats. I love it! Now all my photos can be consistent and I can take photos any time of the day.

Sturdy product - all in one studio that stores easily. My pictures look professional! Love it!
I put off purchasing a photo studio for my fledgling Ebay business because of the expense. After a few months of struggling to get good photos by makeshift means I decided to order this Portable Photo Studio. I've been using the Studio for a few days and have saved HOURS of work and have unbelievably professional, beautiful photos - perfect for online selling. Here's what I love about this product:
1. The studio has everything you need - clean white backdrop, LED lighting perfect for photos, a roomy photo box
2. It is collapsible for easy storage
3. It has sturdy construction and is engineered with lots of handy details - handles for carrying when it is collapsed; zipper pocket for storing electric cord; 4 fabric windows (one on top and three on front at different levels) so you can take photos from best angle), and magnetic stripping to hold the fabric window coverins closed or open.
The inner space of the box is about 30" wide x 22" deep x 24" high. This was one of my best purchases!

I couldn't be happier with the results! Great purchase.
Sometimes I struggle with Amazon Basics. I've received great products and really crappy products from the Amazon Basics line. I decided to risk it and I am glad that I did. I love this thing! It's so portable and easy to store, but I still get great results! Such a convenient tool for product photography. Attaching a couple of images I took inside this.
Question & Answer
Question :
Can you purchase a replacemnt backround?
Answer :
I’ve been shoppping for a light box for some time and I wanted to buy one that came with several different colors. It seems that I can’t find one that I want that has everything I want so I focused on just get the most of what I needed, size, lights, ease of set up and decided I could purchase additional backgrounds separately. There are lots to chose from all ranging in different sizes, colors, designs and patterns. I searched Amazon for light box back ground and light box back drop and photography back ground and back drop. All returning a multitude of different results. The best back grounds will be PVC or a plastic material since they are easy to keep clean and won’t bend or tear like poster board of paper and are specifically made for such purpose. You may have to buy a bigger than you need piece and cut it down to fit your light box and remember it will be width x double the height or for this particular light box you need 30+25= 55” length because the box is not a square. Buying and installing a tiny bit of two-way Velcro strips/dots will solve any probs with making the PVC back ground stay in place. Good luck!
Question :
i just got this and I'm getting bad shadows, is that normal?
Answer :
you most likely just need to get the correct exposure, as they show in the videos and referenced in the user manual (they also have a YouTube channel with great videos...Amazon imaging). the bright white background will force any camera/phone using auto-exposure to under expose. use the +/- settings if using a camera on auto mode, or start with the manual settings they provide in the videos/user manual. or if using a phone, use the exposure slider now found on most phone apps or a manual app or the seller app they reference, which automatically adjusts exposure and can turn the background pure white if needed. the lighting in this particular unit is actually setup like a studio setup. they reference a 2 to 1 directional light ratio in order to give your product better contrast (thus the light in front and on left that people don't seem to understand). the bright white interior, plus front reflective fabric, plus front lighting being twice as bright as left/front lighting (2 to 1 ratio), plus correct exposure should result in a nice bright background leaving mostly just the product shadow on the surface. if you're shooting white products you will need some editing after shooting beings it's the same color as the background. they have videos for that too.
Question :
where can i find a replacement power supply cord?
Answer :
Get this one: UpBright 12V 4.16A AC/DC Adapter. You can find it on Amazon.
Question :
Can different backdrops be added?
Answer :
You can clip different type of backdrops of your choice (color/material/theme). It doesn't come with additional ones but the permanent one that's built in
Question :
My iPhone 5s seems to be producing a more grey or yellowish background when I shoot stuff in the light box. Any suggestions you photography wizards?
Answer :
This has a 5600K temperature LED system, which is pretty much Daylight. It says it has a high CRI, but does not state what it actually is. On a regular camera, you can adjust the white balance. For my work, I have it set to Daylight, and my images on a Nikon D600 are fine. Check white balance settings for your iPhone. On my D600, I can set the color temperature to the 5600K; I also looked at W/B set at Daylight; I get similar results. So I think white balance may be on the wrong setting.
Question :
Where can we purchase replacement LED lights for this?
Answer :
you won't need replacements outside of a defective unit, in which case you have a year warranty. led strips last for tens of thousands of hours. and this unit is sturdy AF
Question :
how do i repair the itam i baught
Answer :
takes one second to unplug it from the unit and it auto-switches off when you collapse it (takes seconds), or how about a cheap switch that attaches to the cable from local store. is it broke? you need to repair it? this item is sturdy as they come.
Question :
Does the background stay pure white for Amazon listing images or do you have to photoshop out the background and put in a pure white background?
Answer :
the seller app they reference in videos and listing and user manual automatically adjusts exposure and can turn the background pure white if needed. something only post-editinf can accomplish unless you have that app or some other app. if you're just talking about getting the backdrop to be brighter, you just need to get the correct exposure, as they show in the videos and referenced in the user manual (they also have a YouTube channel with great videos...Amazon imaging). the bright white background will force any camera/phone using auto-exposure to under expose. use the +/- settings if using a camera on auto mode, or start with the manual settings they provide in the videos/user manual. or if using a phone, use the exposure slider now found on most phone apps or a manual app.
Question :
Is there a way to purchase a black backdrop
Answer :
The manufacturer does not offer any other backdrop. I made my own from a piece of fabric and a couple spring paper clips.
Question :
I need to order just the light, where can I do that?
Answer :
led light strips last many thousands of hours. if defective and it's within a year you should be able to return it under warranty. but this item is super sturdy with protection for the lights. if you are trying to add more light, try just accusing exposure first, as that's required to get optimal results using a bright white background. if you still want to add more lights for whatever reason, you can buy LEDs anywhere
